UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH H.J. HEINZ FELLOWSHIPS

The University of Pittsburgh’s Global Studies Center awards H.J. Heinz fellowships to students from developing countries who wish to pursue a Master’s degree and demonstrate potential as future leaders in the public, government, non-profit, or private sectors.

ELIGIBILITY:

Candidates applying must meet the following criteria:

Applicants must have been accepted to a Master’s program (beginning the academic year for which they seek the Heinz Fellowship) in either the Graduate School of Public Health (GSPH), the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA), the School of Law, the School of Education, or the School of Nursing.

Applicants must have completed an undergraduate university degree.

Applicants must be proficient in speaking, reading and writing English.

Preference will be given to applicants at the early or mid-stages of their career.

The Fellowship is intended for individuals in the practitioner and policy domains. It is not awarded for basic academic research, academic sabbaticals or medical research.

BENEFIT:

The Fellowship is a one-to-two year position. It covers support in the form of a living stipend of $19,200 (paid in monthly installments) and a $1,000 program and professional activities fund.

HEINRICH BOLL STIFTUNG SCHOLARSHIPS IN GERMANY

LOCATION: Germany

The scholarship department of the Heinrich Böll Foundation grants scholarships to graduates, and doctoral students from outside Germany. The scholarships are towards Masters Degree or PhD degree in all subjects offered at state or state-recognized universities.

ELIGIBILITY:

For EU and non-EU students who have who are nt educated in Germany.

International applicants have to prove their proficiency in German. Good or very good knowledge of the German language is required (at least B2 Level or DSH2).

The Heinrich Böll Foundation awards scholarships to German and foreign students in accordance with the guidelines issued by Germany’s Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the Foreign Office (Auswärtiges Amt). Scholarships are awarded for the regular period of study.

BENEFIT:

For Masters Degree: €934 per month plus various individual allowances, possibly health insurance or similar.

For PhD Degree: €1,200 per month, plus € 100 mobility allowance per month, plus various individual allowances
