HEIRS INSURANCE ESSAY CHAMPIONSHIP AND TEACHERS’ INSURANCE AWARENESS PRIZE, 2025

The Heirs Insurance Essay Championship is an annual essay competition open to school students between JSS1 – JSS3 across Nigeria, with the aim of showcasing the creativity and talent of children.

At Heirs Insurance Group, they recognize the pivotal role teachers play in shaping the future. The Teachers’ Insurance Awareness Prize is their flagship initiative dedicated to honouring teachers who champion insurance education within their schools and communities.

Heirs Insurance Essay Championship:

Please adhere strictly to the participation guidelines below, non-compliance will result in disqualification.

Word count: Not more than 500 words.

Essays should be typed and not handwritten.

Students must write their name, school and class on the essay document.

Document Format: Word document only.

Students must save their essay document with their full name.

Application closes on July 8, 2025. Early Submission is advised.

NOTE: Participants must upload their passport photograph and any form of ID when submitting their application form.

Teachers’ Insurance Awareness:

How to Enter:

Step 1: Execute an insurance awareness initiative in your school or community (E.g. conduct a training, publish an article, etc). 

Step 2: Ensure that Heirs Insurance Group reflects in your initiative to make it easy for us to track. 

Step 3: Document your initiative by capturing your impact (Pictures, videos, lesson materials, testimonials etc).

 Step 4: Submit your entry.

BENEFIT:

Heirs Insurance Essay Championship:

Winner: N5,000,000 Scholarship.

1st Runner Up: N2,000,000 Scholarship.

2nd Runner Up: N1,000,000 Scholarship.

Winner’s School: N1,000,000 Grant.

Teachers’ Insurance Awareness:

₦1,000,000 cash prize for the outstanding teacher.

₦500,000 grant for the teacher’s school.

ATLAS SHRUGGED ESSAY CONTEST: WIN UP TO $25,000 IN SCHOLARSHIP PRIZES

Win up to $25,000 in scholarship prizes by writing about one of Ayn Rand’s classic novels.  Join students from around the world in exploring important ideas through writing.

ELIGIBILITY:

Open to students worldwide.

9th grade, 10th grade, 11th grade, 12th grade, College freshman, College sophomore, College junior, College senior, Graduate student

Choose the contest that matches your grade level and the Ayn Rand novel you want to write about.

Read the novel carefully and take notes on themes, characters, and passages that stand out to you.

 They offer three essay contests based on Ayn Rand’s novels. New topics are released each season. Each is tailored to specific grade level. The current open contests are:

Anthem: The annual 2025 Anthem Essay Contest

The Fountainhead: The Summer 2025 round of The Fountainhead Essay Contest

Open to all 8th- through 12th-grade students.

Atlas Shrugged: The summer 2025 Atlas Shrugged contest

Open to all 9th grade through graduate school students.

Choose the contest that corresponds to your grade level. If you’re eligible for multiple contests, you may enter all of them, but each requires reading the corresponding book.

BENEFIT:

First-place winners in the flagship contests — The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged— will receive $3,000 for winning their season’s contest. The grand prize winner among these will be selected to receive an additional $22,000, making a full grand annual prize of $25,000. The Anthem contest’s grand annual prize is $2,000. In addition, all contests offer substantial prizes for runners-up, with details available on each contest’s page.
