UNIVERSITY OF BRISTOL THINK BIG POSTGRADUATE INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS

Application Deadline: 10 am (UK time) on Wednesday, 23 April 2025.

Applications for 2025 entry are now open. Prospective international students can apply for funding towards the cost of tuition fees and living costs.

ELIGIBILITY:

You can apply if you:

have applied to any eligible one-year, full-time taught master’s programme, or one of our eligible two-year programmes: MSc Social Work and MA Law

are starting your master’s programme in September 2025

are classed as an overseas student for fee-paying purposes.

You do not need to have an offer to study before submitting an international scholarship application.

By completing the application form, you will be considered for all the Think Big postgraduate scholarships for which you are eligible. 

The application process is the same for all University of Bristol international scholarships. The terms and conditions are also the same.

BENEFIT:

Scholarship awards for postgraduate international students are valued at £6,500, £13,000, and £26,000 per year and can only be used towards the cost of tuition fees.

BEIJING GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP (BGS)

Application Deadline: May 31, 2025

LOCATION: China

The Beijing Government Scholarship (BGS) is open for applications for international students wishing to continue their Master’s and Doctoral degree programs in China. The scholarship covers tuition fees only, and it falls into the five categories

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants must be non-Chinese nationals.

Applicants must be in good health.

Education background and age limit as below: 

Applicants for Master degree must have Bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35.

Applicants for Ph.D. degree must have a Master degree and be under the age of 40.

Visiting scholar must have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies and be under the age of 45.

Senior visiting scholar must have Master or higher degree or hold academic titles of associate professor or higher, and be under the age of 50.

Applicants should not be awardees of Chinese government scholarships at the same time.

  Application Form for Study in CAAS:

Highest diploma (notarized photocopy).

Academic transcripts of the most advanced studies (notarized photocopy).

Two reference letters from at least two Associate Professors or experts with equal titles in related fields.

A study or research plan (no less than 400 words for visiting study, no less than 500 words for postgraduates).

List of publications.

If any of these documents is written in a language other than English or Chinese, an official certified translation of the document must be included.

Verification of current employer or working unit.

International students should apply for visa to study in China at the Chinese embassy or consulate-general with the original documents and one set of photocopies of the Admission Notice, Visa Application for Study In China (Form JW201/JW202) and Foreigner Physical Examination Form (original copay and photocopy) and valid ordinary passport.

BENEFIT:

Doctoral student scholarship: 40,000 RMB/person/year. 

Master student scholarship: 30,000 RMB/person/year. 

Senior scholar’s scholarship: 10,000 RMB/person/year

Scholarship for exchange students (long-term or credit transferrable students) and students who make special contributions to international exchange and cooperation in the capital area: 5,000 RMB/person/year.
