ÅBO AKADEMI UNIVERSITY-ERASMUS MUNDUS JOINT MASTER TELME – TEACHING, LEARNING, AND MULTILINGUAL EDUCATION

Applications are open—apply now for TELME, a brand-new Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s programme co-funded by the European Union. TELME stands for Teaching, Learning, and Multilingual Education.

ELIGIBILITY:

Students from all over the world are welcome to apply but must comply with the following minimum requirements:

Hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (180 ECTS) with a major in languages or related fields and with an overall average grade equivalent to A-B (ECTS scale). Students in their last year will be accepted conditionally and be proficient in at least 2 languages:

ENGLISH:             Cambridge General English FCE, IELTS (Academic) 6.5, TOEIC 850, TOEFL (paper based: 580, internet based: 90),

FRENCH:               B2 (DELF Pro, TCF)

GERMAN:           B2 (Deutsches Sprachdiplom, Onset, Zertifikat Deutsch für den Beruf Goethe-Zertifikat , Test DaF, ÖSD.Zertifikat)

SPANISH:             B2 (DELE, SIELE)

Certificates must be less than 3 years old.

Certificate requirement is waived for students if their level of proficiency is attested in writing by the university they graduated from.

Applications must be submitted online in English (with certified English translation of official documents in other languages) by DEADLINE.

Please note that applications received or incomplete after the deadline will not be examined.

Ineligible applicants will be notified within one month of the deadline indicating the reasons of their exclusion and how to appeal against the decision.

Curriculum Vitae (preferred format: Europass)

A cover letter (max. 1000 words) demonstrating the consistency between the programme objectives and your motivation, academic/professional background and professional project.

A motivation video (max. 2 minutes) showing language proficiency in both foreign languages and explaining motivation for the choice of their mobility paths.

Passport (national ID will be accepted conditionally if you do not have a passport);

Proof of residence* (government, workplace, study or training institution certificate)

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent diploma along with an official transcript of records*.
Applicants in their final year must send available transcripts, proof of current enrolment, and a declaration of the end date;

2 recommendation letters specifying the contact details of the referees. If preferred, the referees may send these letters directly to Telme-ufr-langues@univ-rennes2.fr.

Certificates of language proficiency

If applicable, any academic publications of which the applicant is the first author or a co-author. In case of publications in languages other than English, an English translation of the abstract should be provided;

Proof of payment of the application fee.

BENEFIT:

The European Union will award scholarships to around 30 outstanding students in the first TELME cohort. These scholarships cover tuition fees, travel expenses, and living costs. Don’t miss this opportunity!

AALTO UNIVERSITY EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP

LOCATION:  Finland

Aalto University Excellence Scholarships are merit-based and are granted on a competitive basis to the highest-achieving applicants based on the programme’s evaluation criteria. The university offers a very limited number of scholarships to fee-paying students.

ELIGIBILITY:

If you are a non-EU/EEA citizen liable to tuition fees, you can apply for the scholarship when you apply to Aalto University. The scholarship application is part of the application form for admission.

On the application form, you will be offered an option to apply or not apply for the scholarship. Only students who are liable to pay tuition fees are eligible to apply for Aalto University Excellence Scholarship, i.e. tuition fee waiver.

Scholarships must be applied for during the application period. You cannot apply for a scholarship after the application period. You cannot get a scholarship if you have not applied for it during the application period.

Scholarships can be awarded to the best applicants based on the programme’s evaluation criteria. Programmes may decide not to grant any scholarships. Applicants are ranked according to the criteria indicated on the programme’s webpage.

In the master’s admissions scholarships are allocated during the academic evaluation stage as part of the admissions process of a degree programme. The best applicants liable to tuition fees may be awarded a scholarship. The academic evaluation criteria are available on the study option websites.

The scholarship decision is given at the same time as the admission decision.

As defined in the Universities Act, the scholarship decision cannot be appealed.

Duration of scholarship: Scholarships are granted for the normative period of study of the degree programme.

The normative study period is three years of full-time study for a bachelor’s degree and two years of full-time study for a master’s degree. Scholarship requires full-time study and studying according to the approved personal study plan.

BENEFIT:

Aalto University Excellence Scholarships are awarded as tuition fee waivers that cover the full tuition fee. Aalto University Excellence Scholarships do not cover living costs. Students need to cover all living expenses (at least 800 euros per month) and other study-related costs from their own financial resources.
