MASTERCARD FOUNDATION UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR AFRICAN STUDENTS AT KWAME NKRUMAH UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY (KNUST)

LOCATION: Ghana

The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at KNUST is thrilled to announce its 2024 scholarship opportunity for academically talented yet economically disadvantaged young people in Ghana and sub-Saharan Africa. Eligible candidates are welcomed to apply.

ELIGIBILITY:

All Applicants must have a WASSCE or GBCE or ABCE or GCE O’Level and A’Level or their equivalent Results from an accredited/recognized institution and Certificate Ready and must meet KNUST’s Admission Requirements. NO AWAITING RESULTS candidate will be accepted. Applicant’s result must be at least a year old.

The Applicant must demonstrate that he/she has Critical Economic Needs.

The Applicant must have Proven Records of Leadership and Community Engagement(s).

The Applicant must be prepared to Go-Back and Give-Back to his or her Community.

The Applicant must not be enrolled in any tertiary institution.

Priority shall be given to;

Females

Displaced Persons (Certified Refugees, Internally Displaced Persons, etc.)

Persons with Disability

BENEFIT:

The Scholarship includes;

Comprehensive financial support (full tuition, fully paid on-campus accommodation, learning materials, transportation and monthly stipend).

Regular group meetings with other scholars that focus on personal and professional development opportunities and activities tailored to build societal relationships and scholars’ capacity.

ACGEM YOUTH ESSAY COMPETITION 

Application Deadline: June, 28th 2024.

LOCATION: Ghana

The African Center for Governance and Economic Management (ACGEM) is thrilled to announce the launch of an exciting essay competition on the theme: “Embracing Homegrown Democracy in Africa: Unlocking the Potential of African Democracies”.

ELIGIBILITY:

Open to citizens of African countries between the ages of 18 – 35.

Essays should be written in English and should not exceed 5000 words.

Essays should be formatted in Times New Roman, with a font size of 12, and a line spacing of 1.5.

Submissions should be emailed to info@acgemafrica.org and copied to saajida@acgemafrica.org.

All submissions should include a cover letter with the participant’s name, contact information, and a brief profile not exceeding 500

BENEFIT:

1st Place: $3000 and an all-expense-paid trip to ACGEM headquarters in Accra for a 1-month internship.

2nd Place: $2000.

3rd Place: $1000
