TWAS-ICCBS POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME

TWAS-ICCBS Postdoctoral Fellowships are tenable at the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS)—comprising the H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry and the Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular and Drug Research—for a minimum period of six months to a maximum period of twelve months in the following fields: organic chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular medicine, pharmacology, physical chemistry, or analytical chemistry.

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants for these fellowships must meet the following criteria:

be a maximum age of 45 years on 31 December of the application year.

be nationals of a developing country (other than Pakistan);

hold a PhD degree in a field of natural sciences;

must not hold any visa for temporary or permanent residency in Pakistan or any developed country;

be regularly employed in a developing country (other than Pakistan) and hold a research assignment there;

provide a certificate of good health from a qualified medical doctor;

provide an official Preliminary Acceptance Letter from ICCBS (see sample letter that can be downloaded below or contained in the online application form). Requests for acceptance must be directed to the Director of ICCBS (Prof. Dr. Raza Shah at raza.shah@iccs.edu or protocol.iccbs@iccs.edu) who will facilitate the assignment of a host supervisor. In contacting Prof. Dr. Raza Shah, applicants must accompany their request for a preliminary acceptance letter with copy of their CV, a research proposal outline and two recommendation letters.

BENEFIT:

ICCBS will provide monthly stipends to cover living costs such as food, accommodation, local transportation, and incidental minor illness. The monthly stipend will not be converted to foreign currency

ACI FOUNDATION FELLOWSHIP AND SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS

The ACI Foundation is currently offering 49 fellowships and scholarships for high-potential students in concrete-related graduate and undergraduate degree programs.

The next application cycle will open on July 1, 2025

ELIGIBILITY:

Fellowship:

The award cycle for this application period is the 2026 fall semester through the 2027 spring semester.

ACI Foundation fellowships can be awarded to international students; however, you must attend an institution in the U.S., Canada, or Mexico during the award cycle.

Some of the fellowships expect the awardee to complete a 10- to 12-week internship during the summer of 2026.

Those applicants chosen as a finalist for an ACI Foundation fellowship will be notified by February 2026 and must be available to attend an interview with the Scholarship Council on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at the spring ACI Concrete Convention. The ACI Foundation will pay for the flight, hotel, and registration and will include a travel stipend.

All applicants must be proficient in the English language. If English is not your native language, you can upload a copy of your TOEFL score to your application. This is optional and not required.

The educational stipend is paid in two equal installments over the course of one year directly to the student to cover expenses related to tuition, room and board, books, student fees, etc. Receipt of stipends is contingent upon attendance at scheduled ACI Concrete Conventions during the award cycle.

Fellowship awardees are expected to submit a written report near the end of their fellowship period describing the value of the fellowship to their personal development and to their preparation for their chosen career after graduation.

Scholarships:

ACI Foundation scholarships can be awarded to international students unless an award sponsor has a specific requirement for area or region of study.

The award cycle for this application period is the 2026 fall semester through the 2027 spring semester.

To be eligible for a graduate scholarship, you must be a full-time student in a master’s or PhD program during the entire award cycle. Applicants must not have exceeded their second year of a master’s program or fourth year of a PhD program.

To be eligible for an undergraduate scholarship, the applicant must be a full-time undergraduate at the time of applying for and during the entire award cycle.

The scholarship stipend is paid in two equal installments over one year to the financial aid/registrar office of the institution where the study program will be pursued. These funds will then be deposited into the recipient’s educational institution account.

Fellowship recipients will receive the following:

$10,000 USD educational stipend for tuition, residence, books, and materials;

Appropriate recognition in Concrete International magazine and on the Foundation website;

Paid travel expenses and attendance fees to two ACI conventions (must be used during the award year). Fellowship finalists must attend the Spring ACI Convention to be interviewed.

Matched with an industry mentor.

Scholarships:

$5,000 educational stipend for tuition, residence, books, and materials; and

Appropriate recognition in Concrete International magazine and on the Foundation website.
