UNIVERSITY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA INTERNATIONAL TUITION AWARD

International Tuition Awards assist international graduate students with their tuition fees if they are registered full-time in research-oriented master’s and doctoral programs at the UBC Vancouver campus.

ELIGIBILITY:

Citizenship: International

 Degree Level: Masters, Doctoral

Students are eligible for the International Tuition Award if they meet the following criteria:

Students must be assessed international tuition fees. Students can review their tuition assessments by logging into their Workday account.

Students must be registered full-time in one of the included graduate programs. To review included programs and award amount per program, check the graduate program listing under Graduate Degree Programs (see “Tuition & Financial Support” header)

Students who receive external funding (e.g., their home government, Canadian Commonwealth Scholarship, or other funding agencies like CIDA, WUSC, DAAD, CONACYT, CONICYT, NSF, etc.) for their tuition which is equal to or higher than the value of the International Tuition Award are not eligible. Students who receive external funding toward their tuition which is lower than the value of the International Tuition Award will have their International Tuition Award reduced by the amount of the external tuition funding.

As of September 2022, Indigenous students receiving Band funding are eligible to receive tuition awards (ex. International Tuition Award, 4YF Tuition Award, and IGF Tuition Award).

Students who receive the staff tuition waiver are not eligible to receive the International Tuition Award

The University reserves the right to change the value of this scholarship without notice.

UNIVERSITY OF SURREY INTERNATIONAL EXCELLENCE AWARD (POSTGRADUATE)

Application Deadline: 3rd August, 2026

LOCATION: United Kingdom

This scholarship is awarded as a fee waiver. It is open to self-funded international fee-paying students regardless of nationality or domicile who are starting their studies with us in September 2026.

The scheme is application-based, and awards are decided by a scholarship awards panel.

All scholarships must be allocated before a CAS is issued. Please apply early. They are not able to consider applications if your CAS has already been allocated.

ELIGIBILITY:

In order to be eligible, applicants must:

Be an overseas fee-paying student

Hold an offer to study a full-time masters programme*

Be self-funded (you must be paying for your studies independently rather than being sponsored or in receipt of another scholarship)

Not be from the Surrey International Study Centre (SISC)

Apply for a scholarship before a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) is issued. The award cannot be applied post CAS.

*Excludes part-time and distance-learning courses, MSc Artificial Intelligence (Conversion), MSc Pharmaceutical Sciences, MSc Biotechnology, MSc Human Nutrition and Food Science, and the MBA course.

The award is not deferrable (if applicants are deferring, they will need to reapply for the award). This will also be subject to the award availability.

This scholarship cannot be combined with the alumni or early bird discount.

For two-year postgraduate courses, the scholarship award is valid for the first year only.

Applications will be reviewed monthly.

You must have an offer from the University to complete the scholarship application form. Applications without a valid student ID and offer will not be assessed.

A scholarship application must be finalized before a CAS is issued. We are not able to allocate awards if your CAS has already been allocated.

Our scholarship awards are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Please apply early.

Deadline: September 2026 applications will close on 3 August 2026.
