EDINBURGH NAPIER UNIVERSITY WEST AFRICA BACHELOR’S/TAUGHT MASTER’S SCHOLARSHIP 

LOCATION: United Kingdom

The University of Edinburgh has partial scholarships for self-funding bachelor’s or taught master’s students from West Africa.

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible for this award, you must be:

Domiciled in Benin, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal and Togo at the time of application. If you are applying from another country in this region, please refer to our Sub-Saharan Africa Scholarship.

Self-funding your course.

Meet the entry criteria for a bachelor’s or taught master’s course in September 2025 and January 2026.

Scholarships are awarded automatically once you have paid your deposit payment towards your tuition fees. The number of scholarships is limited, and they are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Once you have paid your deposit, please email cas@napier.ac.uk to be considered.

Successfully progressing to each year of study to claim the award as an undergraduate student (up to a maximum award of £8,000).

For postgraduate students, the scholarship is tenable for one academic year.

BENEFIT:

They have a limited number of partial scholarships worth between £1,000 and £2,000 (GBP), available for self-funding students domiciled in West Africa (see countries below). 

For undergraduate students, the scholarship amount is available for each year of undergraduate study. This is subject to successful progression to each academic year, up to a maximum of £8,000 (GBP).

GREAT SCHOLARSHIPS AT EDINBURGH NAPIER UNIVERSITY

Edinburgh Napier University is offering GREAT Scholarships for the 2026-27 academic year. Scholarships are available for students from Nigeria. The scholarships are available for all full-time postgraduate taught master’s programmes.

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible for a scholarship, you must: 

Be a passport holder and permanent resident of Nigeria. 

Have an undergraduate degree, be motivated, and have an interest in the proposed subject area 

Meet the English language requirement of the UK HEI 

Establish an engagement with the UK as a scholar, through personal and academic fulfillment. 

Be willing to attend a networking event of all UK based GREAT scholars, to discuss experiences and capture perceptions of studying in the UK 

Be willing to maintain contact with the British Council and their HEI and act as an ambassador for the GREAT Scholarships 

As an alumnus of the GREAT Scholarships, be willing occasionally to speak to potential candidates about their own experience of studying in the UK 

BENEFIT:

GREAT Scholarships offer students the opportunity to receive £10,000 towards their tuition fees for a wide range of one-year taught postgraduate courses in the 2026-27 academic year.
