IMD BACKPACK-EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP FOR WOMEN

The BackPack-Excellence Scholarship for Women exists to create a fairer playing field for talented and driven women who have faced obstacles that made an MBA feel out of reach, whether financial constraints, family responsibilities, or past disruptions in their professional path.

By supporting women with leadership potential but limited ability to realize opportunities, this scholarship provides the skills, network, and confidence to lead with impact in business, public life, and beyond.

ELIGIBILITY:

Please complete the scholarship application in the Program section of your MBA application form.

Submit a 500-word essay: “What pressing challenge, whether in your community or more broadly, are you most passionate about addressing? How do you think a BackPack-supported MBA at IMD will enable you to contribute to addressing that challenge?

Share, dare and care are the fundamental values guiding every step of the BackPack Foundation. In a 90-120 second video, please describe a moment when you embodied one or more of these values. (In case of difficulty submitting a video please contact admissions.mba@imd.org)

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a BackPack assessment.

Please note that you may apply for multiple scholarships, however scholarships are non-cumulative, therefore you will not be selected for more than one. In addition. scholarships are reserved for those who are not sponsored by their company.

LEEDS UNIVERSITY BUSINESS SCHOOL MBA EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIPS

LOCATION: United Kingdom

All candidates who are offered a place on the full-time MBA at Leeds University Business School will be automatically considered for this scholarship. You do not need to complete a separate application for the scholarship.

ELIGIBILITY:

Candidates will be assessed by the responses given on their MBA application form and performance at interview with the MBA Programme Director. 

To be considered, candidates must demonstrate a combination of:

Outstanding career achievements including rapid progression and high levels of leadership responsibility 

An excellent academic record, demonstrating a desire for knowledge and continued professional development 

Potential to contribute and add value to the MBA programme, including the ability to bring diverse professional and cultural viewpoints 

Evidence of supporting communities, strong ethical values, or engaging in sustainable initiatives 

Potential to contribute to our alumni network and have a positive impact on the school, business and society. 

Scholarships are reviewed by the MBA Programme Director following successful completion of the interview process and awarded periodically throughout the cycle. Those who are successful will be contacted directly, unfortunately, due to the volume of applications that are received they are unable to contact those who are unsuccessful.
