UNIVERSITY OF AUCKLAND MASTER OF HEALTH LEADERSHIP – INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

The main purpose of the Scholarship is to support international students to develop leadership capabilities for the health sector and further their careers in health management, health care quality improvement, international health management, and health leadership in their communities by enrolling in the Master of Health Leadership at the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences.

ELIGIBILITY:

The Scholarships will be awarded to new international students applying for admission to a Master of Health Leadership at the University of Auckland Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences. Students who have commenced study in a Master of Health Leadership are not eligible for consideration for these scholarships.

To take up and be paid the Scholarships the candidate must be enrolled and have paid the fees, or arranged to pay the fees, for full-time enrollment in a Master of Health Leadership in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.

The Scholarships are tenable by international students.

The basis of selection will be academic merit; successful applicants will have a GPA or GPE of at least 5.00 in their most recent qualifying programme. The country of origin of the candidate may be considered by the selection committee to align with the University’s strategic aims.

The Scholarships will be awarded by the University of Auckland Council on the recommendation of a selection committee comprising the Associate Dean of Education of the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences (or nominee) and the International Manager of the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences (or nominee).

The Scholarship may be held concurrently with any other award or grant as long as a) the terms of that award or grant permit and b) the University of Auckland Council is informed and approves.

You do not need to apply for this scholarship, award, or prize or complete an online application form. It is awarded on the recommendation of the relevant faculty or University of Auckland committee.

BENEFIT:

Up to ten scholarships will be awarded, each for the duration of the programme and will be of the value of up to $15,000 each.

KAHOTEA OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT BACHELOR’S SCHOLARSHIP AT VICTORIA UNIVERSITY OF WELLINGTON

Application Deadline: 1 September, 2025 (by 4:30pm NZL Time)

LOCATION: New Zealand

The applicants of the Kahotea Outstanding Achievement Bachelor’s Scholarship will have achieved exceptional academic results and demonstrated extensive contributions within the areas of culture, sports, community involvement, leadership, or equity.

ELIGIBILITY:

Consideration for the scholarship will be given to applicants who meet all the criteria and regulations of either the Tangiwai Excellence Scholarship, the Totoweka Equity Scholarship, the Raukaraka Leadership Scholarship, the Pakohe Sustainability Scholarship, the Mātātoa Sports Scholarship, the Kahurangi Māori Student Scholarship, or the Mana Pasifika Scholarship to be eligible.

Scholarships will be awarded based on academic achievement as well as the areas of culture, community involvement, leadership, equity, or sport, depending on the category of scholarship they applied for.

All supporting references, endorsements, and documentation specific to the Totoweka, Raukaraka, Pakohe, Mātātoa, Kahurangi, or Mana Pasifika Scholarships will be required prior to consideration. Please refer to each scholarship regulation for further information.

*For applicants selecting the Tangiwai Excellence Scholarship only and wanting to be considered for the Kahotea Scholarship, you will need to provide a supporting reference from your school, along with the completion of the Academic and extracurricular achievements (additional information) section of your application.

Selection will be made by the Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington Undergraduate Scholarship Committee. The decisions of the Committee are final.

Holding the scholarship for the second and third years is conditional on students continuing to be enrolled full-time and maintaining a Grade Point Average of at least 6 (B+ average).

Value: Up to $35,000 over three years and broken down as follows:

The scholarship package includes full accommodation costs** for the first year in a Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington hall of residence, plus $5,000 towards tuition fees in the first and second years of study, and a $5,000 stipend in the third year. For students who are not in a hall, a $15,000 fees contribution can be taken across the first and second years, and a $5,000 stipend in the third year.
