TOKYO METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY GLOBAL PARTNER GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Tokyo Global Partner Scholarship Program is awarded to high-achieving students who wish to pursue their graduate education at Tokyo Metropolitan University (TMU). By bringing together students from around the world, the scholarship intends to promote TMU as an educational and research hub for collaboration and innovation that contributes to the development of Tokyo and beyond.

ELIGIBILITY:

Meet the entry requirements for admission to a graduate program at Tokyo Metropolitan University (TMU).

Be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree (i.e., a master’s applicant) or a master’s degree (i.e., a Ph.D. applicant) program at a higher education institution in either of the following locations: A partner institution of TMU

any of Tokyo’s sister cities

any other Asian country or region

Work in a research institution, governmental organization, or company in either of the following locations:

any of Tokyo’s sister cities

any other Asian country or region

Demonstrate a commitment to collaboration and innovation for the enhancement of Tokyo and beyond.

For the doctoral course, a person who has or is expected to acquire a master’s degree, has or is expected to acquire a degree equivalent to a professional degree, or has been recognized by the graduate school as having academic ability equivalent to or higher than that of those who have a master’s degree or a professional degree through individual screening of admission qualifications. The person should also have reached 24 years of age at the time of enrollment.

For the master’s course, a person who has completed the 16-year course of school education, has or is expected to acquire a bachelor’s degree, or has been recognized by the graduate school as having academic ability equivalent to or higher than that of those who have graduated from any Japanese university through individual screening of admission qualifications. The person should also have reached 22 years of age.

LUND UNIVERSITY GLOBAL SCHOLARSHIP

Application Opens: Early February, 2026

LOCATION: Sweden

Every year, Lund University awards scholarships to a number of new, high-achieving international students from across the globe. This selective, merit-based scholarship programme is designed to recognize top academic students from outside the EU/EEA who are applying for degree programmes at Lund University.

ELIGIBILITY:

Scholarship recipients are students with a proven track record of consistently high academic performance and a strong fit for Lund University’s programmes. The scholarship is highly selective, competitive, and based entirely on merit.

To be eligible to apply for a scholarship, you must meet all of the following criteria:

You must be a citizen of a country from outside the EU/EEA (and Switzerland) and be required to pay tuition fees.

You are applying in a regular application round to master’s-level studies leading to a degree at Lund University, or, exceptionally, for one of the Bachelor’s programmes in Development Studies, Mathematics, Physics and Physical Geography. The programme at Lund University that you are applying for a scholarship for should be your first choice in your application at universityadmissions.se.

Please note that special conditions may apply if you are applying to our programmes in Music and Fine arts.

The application usually opens in early February every year. When the application period is open, you will find a link to the application portal further down this page. 

Applicants who have completed an application for an international degree programme at Lund University as their first choice will be notified by email when the scholarship application period opens. 

BENEFIT:

Grants may cover part or all of the tuition fees.

The percentage awarded depends on the program/faculty budget and does not reflect the student’s academic standing.

Scholarships cover tuition fees only—living costs are not included.
