UNDP CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: SMALL GRANTS PROGRAMME GLOBAL INDIGENOUS PEOPLES’ FELLOWSHIP INITIATIVE PROGRAM

The GEF Small Grants Office (SGP) Ethiopia is calling for nominations for the OP7 SGP Indigenous Peoples Fellowship Initiative Programme. 

The programme will host one fellow in the SGP Ethiopia Office, where the successful nominee will work alongside the SGP and youth focal points in UNDP regional hubs in Africa, –  Addis Ababa.  The SGP Ethiopia office has been selected to host this 18-month programme for the Africa Region. 

ELIGIBILITY:

Any local CSOs, NGOs or community-based groups interested in conserving and restoring the environment while enhancing people’s livelihoods and well-being. Interested groups can also do the eligibility test available at the following  link; https://sgp.undp.org/about-us-157.html

The Focal area for fellowship in either Biodiversity Conservation or Climate Change

Priority is given to indigenous youth below the age of 35 years; grounded and accountable to a specific community and have contributed to efforts to support the Pastoralist indigenous ways of life.

BENEFIT:

Grant allocation for this initiative is US$75,000, and has an 18-month project (fellowship) duration.

EMERGING YOUTH CREATIVE LEADERS: FUNDING & MENTORSHIP FOR THE TRUE BLUE FELLOWSHIP

LOCATION: Multiple Regions

The True Blue Fellowship (formerly the Fellowship Grant Program) aims to connect and empower youth around the world to leverage the creative arts to enact change in local communities to safeguard the ocean, waterways, and climate. If you want to make a difference in your community, we invite you to participate in the True Blue Fellowship! 

ELIGIBILITY:

This program is open to young people worldwide ages 13-24; however, applications must be in English.

Proof of age, identity, or eligibility may be required after application submission.

Applications may be submitted by an individual or by a group of unlimited size. Groups must select one group leader to serve as the primary contact. 

Projects may be new or emerging (no older than 2 years).

Projects utilize the creative arts as its primary method to enact change.

Projects are related to safeguarding the ocean, waterways, and/or the climate.

Only one application per youth is permitted. However, youth may submit to other Bow Seat programs such as the Ocean Awareness Contest.

BENEFIT:

Funding up to $2,500 USD

Access to a community of other Fellows and Capacity Building Programs

Mentorship and support from the Future Blue Youth Council and Bow Seat Staff
