UEA DAVID SAINSBURY SCHOLARSHIPS IN GLOBAL PLANT HEALTH

The Sainsbury Laboratory (TSL) offers the prestigious David Sainsbury Scholarships in Global Plant Health to a limited number of applicants on the MSc in Global Plant Health. To be considered for this scholarship, you need to apply for your place on the MSc in Global Plant Health. The deadline to apply for the course is 30 May 2025 (for international applicants) and 29 August 2025 (for UK applicants).

The David Sainsbury Full MSc Scholarship:

You are eligible for a full scholarship under these terms if you meet all these criteria:

You are in receipt of an offer of a place on the UEA MSc in Global Plant Health

You are a national of or domiciled in a least-developed, low-income, or lower-middle-income country or territory as defined by the Overseas Development Agency Development Assistance Committee (DAC) list, version 2024-25 for entry in 2025-26 academic year.

There are a limited number of scholarships available and these will be awarded throughout the year, so you are advised to apply early.

The David Sainsbury 50% Fee Scholarship:

You are eligible for a full scholarship under these terms if you meet all these criteria:

You are in receipt of an offer of a place on the UEA MSc in Global Plant Health

You are not a national of or domiciled in a least-developed, low-income, or lower-middle-income country or territory as defined by the Overseas Development Agency Development Assistance Committee (DAC) list, version 2024-25 for entry in 2025-26 academic year. For example, you are a national of and domiciled in an upper-middle income country or higher income country (including the UK) according to this list.

There are a limited number of scholarships available and these will be awarded throughout the year, so you are advised to apply early.

BENEFIT:

The David Sainsbury Full MSc Scholarship: Each full scholarship will cover up to: the full cost of the tuition fee (£35,450 international fee for 2025-26)

maintenance grant (exact value at the UKRI postgraduate researcher stipend level to be determined for 2025-26; in 2024-23 it was £19,237)

an additional £4,000 for travel costs (subject to valid economy class travel receipts)

The David Sainsbury 50% Fee Scholarship: Each 50% fee scholarship will cover up to up to 50% of the full cost of the tuition fee (50% of either £17,975 UK or £35,450 international fees for 2025-26), minus any other awards or scholarships you are in possession of that cover more than 50% of the fee.

THE NIGERIA PRIZE FOR LITERARY CRITICISM 2025

Entries are hereby invited for The Nigeria Prize for Literary Criticism. The yearly prize is sponsored by NLNG to honour the author of the best critical work. This year’s competition is on Prose Fiction

ELIGIBILITY:

All applicants must submit their entries accompanied by an application form obtainable online from The Nigeria Prizes website, www.thenigeriaprizes.org.

Completed forms must be printed and submitted with the entries. Go to http://www.thenigeriaprizes.org for more details on submission.

All applicants must submit three (3) literary criticism works on Prose Fiction for the prize.

No work published before 2021 will be accepted.

The prize will be awarded for no other reason than excellence.

BENEFIT:

To encourage literary criticism, the Advisory Board of the Nigeria Prize for Literature will reward the author of the best critical work with the sum of USD10,000.00
