UNIVERSITY OF OXFORD OPTIVER FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS, OCTOBER 2027

This scholarship programme aims to increase the number of women from low- and middle-income countries taking up offers for postgraduate science courses at Oxford. The programme has been made possible by a generous donation from the Optiver Foundation.

ELIGIBILITY:

Up to six scholarships are available to female students who are ordinarily resident in an eligible country and who are applying to start an eligible master’s course at Oxford in October 2027. 

For selection purposes we will include all candidates on relevant courses who have indicated on the postgraduate application form that their sex is female. The sex on the application form must match that shown in identity documents, e.g., passport or visa, but does not have to be the applicant’s legal sex. Transgender people may be able to obtain a passport or visa in a binary sex other than their legal sex.  

Students currently at Oxford are not eligible to apply.

This scholarship is not open to applications from candidates who hold deferred offers to start in 2027-28.

To be considered for this scholarship, submit your application for graduate study by the relevant November, December, or January deadline for your course, and tick the relevant box on the graduate application form.

If you meet the advertised eligibility criteria, we will ask you to complete an additional scholarship application form to ask about your socio-economic situation and to assess for potential disadvantage and under-representation.

BENEFIT:

The next Optiver Foundation Scholars will begin their studies at Oxford in October 2027 and will be the fifth cohort of the scholarship scheme. Scholars will join the Departments of Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, and Engineering Science, or the Mathematical Institute and will receive full financial support to cover their course fees, as well as a grant for living costs. The donation will also enable the provision of tailored induction activities, mentoring, and on-course support for the scholars.

CARDIFF UNIVERSITY MBA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME

The MBA Scholarship schemes recognize high-quality candidates who share their public value ethos and ambitions and want to take the next step in their careers by studying for their MBA at Cardiff Business School.

ELIGIBILITY:

Whether you’re looking to study full-time or part-time, the flagship Cardiff MBA or one of our thematic programmes, and whether you’re self-funded or supported by your employer, you’ll be eligible for this scholarship.

They’ve extended this to include organizations investing in their workforce by supporting them to study an MBA. For the part-time programme, the scholarship will be split equally across the 2 years of study.

The following full terms and conditions apply for this scholarship:

Scholarships are available to applicants who meet the terms of their offer and enroll in any Cardiff University MBA programme.

Scholarships will be awarded in the form of an automatic tuition fee discount and cannot be used in place of any required deposit. No cash alternative is available.

Where a student is part-funded by their employer, the scholarship/discount will be split equally between the 2 paying parties in direct proportion to how the fees are being paid. If you have funding arrangements not covered here, please contact MBA-Enquiries@cardiff.ac.uk to discuss your individual circumstances.

Scholarships are for autumn semester entry. Any requests to defer entry and receipt of the scholarship will need to be done via direct discussion with the school.

Applicants who are in receipt of any variation of the MBA scholarships are not eligible for any other university bursaries or scholarships.

Self-funded students (i.e., those not being supported by employers) are considered those who are not in receipt of funding from external bodies such as local government, charities, or private organizations. Anyone in receipt of such funding is not eligible for the scholarship. This excludes postgraduate loans from the UK government and postgraduate loans and bursaries from the Welsh government.

If you are an international student, you must satisfy all financial requirements as part of your visa application for study in the UK. You should not be solely relying on receiving the Cardiff University MBA Public Value Scholarship to meet the UKVI financial requirements. Please see UKVI financial requirements for visa applications for further information.

Please ensure that you have left sufficient time for your application and supporting documents to be reviewed and processed before the acceptance deadline noted above.
