CURTIN UNIVERSITY 2025 HDR SCHOLARSHIP – WASM: MINERALS ENERGY AND CHEMICAL ENGINEERING

This HDR scholarship is supported by an ARC DECRA project. The purpose is to support the PhD candidate to conduct basic research on “Applications of oxide materials for electrochemical water splitting and plastic degradation”.

The successful candidate must meet the minimum academic entry requirement for admission into the Doctor of Philosophy program https://research.curtin.edu.au/postgraduate/ including the English proficiency levels set by Curtin University.

Candidates should have Masters and bachelor (First Class Honours) degree in Engineering (e.g., Chemical, Materials, Environmental, Resources) or Chemistry (e.g., Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Electrochemistry) or equivalent degree, and meet the language requirement (IELTS, Overall 6.5, Speaking, Writing, Reading and Listening 6.0 or TOEFL, Overall 79, Reading, 13, Listening 13, Speaking 18, Writing 21, or PTE equivalent).

Students with previous research experience and publications in the fields of materials science, materials engineering, catalysis, electrocatalysis, chemical engineering, electrochemistry, inorganic chemistry, environmental science, etc., are encouraged to apply.

Recipients must complete their milestone 1 within 6 month of enrolment and remain enrolled on a full time basis for the duration of the scholarship.

BENEFIT:

Value: The successful candidate will receive a stipend of $37,500.00 per annum (tax-free), indexed annually.

The duration of the award shall be for three years with a possible extension of up to six months (maximum), assessed on a case-by-case basis.

In addition, this scholarship will include a tuition fee offset support for a successful international candidate
