NLNG THE NIGERIA PRIZE FOR SCIENCE 2025

Application Deadline: GMT Wednesday, 30th April 2025.

LOCATION: Nigeria

Entries are invited from scientists and innovators worldwide for advancing scientific solutions to a the prescribed problem as captured by the theme for the year, Innovations in ICT, Artificial Intelligence (Al) and Digital Technologies for Development.

ELIGIBILITY:

The award is open to scientists and innovators worldwide (Nigerians and non-Nigerians) involved in applying science to proffer Innovations in ICT, Artificial Intelligence (Al) and Digital Technologies for Development.

Members of the Advisory Board or Panel of Judges or their relatives are not allowed to enter their works for the science prize during their year of service as well as the following year.

NLNG staff or their family members are ineligible to enter the prize during their years of service and five (5) years post-service. Only one entry per contestant(s).

The work should be of outstanding merit and should have advanced the frontiers of knowledge and/or provide an innovative technology in ICT, Artificial Intelligence (Al) and Digital Technologies for Development.

The entry should be a completed scientific work, substantiated by either a proof of concept or tangible societal impact.

All materials in support of the entry must be submitted within the time stipulated.

All entries must be received by midnight GMT Wednesday, 30th April 2025. Late entries will not be considered

Entries not submitted by the stated deadline and according to stated conditions shall not be considered

BENEFIT:

The winner(s) would receive an award of USD100,000.00

MASTERCARD FOUNDATION SCHOLARS PROGRAM AT ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY (ASU) 

Application Deadline: Sunday, 9 March 2025, 23:59 GMT.

LOCATION: Multiple Regions

The Mastercard Foundation, in partnership with Arizona State University, will provide 160 graduate scholarships from 2025 to 2030. Scholars will pursue ASU degrees online with in-person support and wrap-around services from Kepler College in Rwanda, blending flexible online learning with personalized guidance and community engagement. 

ELIGIBILITY:

Must meet academic and English proficiency requirements;
Must be an African citizen committed to ethical leadership and community engagement;

Applicants must be between 18 and 33 years;

Proven leadership, service, and academic excellence;

Undergraduate degree earned by July 2025;

No prior graduate degree started or completed before August 2025;

Must reside in Kigali, Rwanda for the program duration.

BENEFIT:

The scholarship covers full tuition fees, on-campus accommodation, and comprehensive support for the two-year graduate program. Recipients will also benefit from individual mentorship, leadership development, and engaging events and programming. Additionally, Scholars will participate in a two-month summer intensive experience at ASU in the United States between the first and second year, aligned with their program of study.
