MOPGA 2026: VISITING FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM FOR EARLY CAREER RESEARCHERS

The Make Our Planet Great Again (MOPGA) initiative continues to attract interest from the international scientific community and an ever-growing number of talented individuals wishing to contribute to research on major environmental and climate issues. 

This ninth call for applications, funded by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE), in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR) and implemented by Campus France, will welcome international early career researchers wishing to conduct a research project in France, thereby promoting their collaboration with leading French research institutions.

ELIGIBILITY:

Individuals fitting the following criteria are eligible to apply:

Applicants who do NOT hold French citizenship

Foreign researchers holding a doctoral degree for less than 5 years (must have passed their thesis defense between December 2020 and December 2025)

Foreign researchers who have not resided in France between Sept. 12th, 2025 and Dec. 12th, 2025 (more than 90 days) 

Applicants must provide the following documents:

CV with list of publications ( max. 4 pages)

PhD Diploma (or completion certificate)

CV of the scientific advisor at the host laboratory (max. 2 pages)

Letter of support from the scientific advisor, co-signed by the laboratory director or accompanied by a letter of commitment from the latter, certifying the availability of the scientific environment and resources necessary for the successful completion of the research project, as well as alignment with the laboratory’s objectives

Up to 3 letters of recommendation

Passport or proof of ID

BENEFIT:

The fellowships are awarded for a period of 12 months.

Each fellowship includes (exclusively):

A monthly allowance of €2,500;

A one-time installation grant of €500;

Health coverage: health insurance, civil liability, and repatriation assistance (followed by complementary health coverage once affiliation to the French social security system is completed).

CARDIFF UNIVERSITY COMMONWEALTH MASTER’S AND PHD SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMMES

Applications for Commonwealth Master’s and PHD Scholarships for 2026/27 are open. Commonwealth Scholarships are a joint initiative between the UK government-funded Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) and UK universities.

ELIGIBILITY:

To apply for these scholarships, students must be postgraduate applicants from low- and middle-income Commonwealth countries who wish to study programs that fall under the six key themes.

Further eligibility criteria, including a list of eligible Commonwealth countries, can be found on the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission website.

Cardiff University does not administer this scholarship. All eligibility inquiries and applications should be directed to the Commonwealth Association or the British Council within your home country.

Ensure that you check with the nominating agency in your home country for the relevant deadlines for your application.

Applications should be made through either a selected non-governmental organisation and charitable body or through your national nominating agency for Commonwealth scholarships in your home country.

The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) expects all Commonwealth Scholarship candidates to be nominated by an approved nominating body and to have completed an application form online using the Electronic Application System (EAS). There is no charge for candidates who apply using this online application system.

In addition to the Master’s Scholarship, the CSC offers:

BENEFIT:

Each scholarship provides:

Approved airfare from the Scholar’s home country to the UK and return at the end of the award (the CSC will not reimburse the cost of fares for dependants, nor the cost of journeys made before the award is confirmed).

Approved tuition fees: full fees are covered by agreement between the CSC and the UK university, and Scholars are not liable to pay for any part of the tuition fee.

Stipend (living allowance) at the rate of £1,452 per month, or £1,781 per month for those at universities in the London metropolitan area (rates quoted at current levels).

Warm clothing allowance, where applicable.

Study travel grant towards the cost of study-related travel within the UK or overseas.

If a Scholar has children and is widowed, divorced, or a single parent, child allowance of child allowance of £622 per month for the first child, and £154 per month for the second and third child under the age of 16, if their children are living with them at the same address in the UK.
