THE COLLEGE OF WOOSTER MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP

Awarded to incoming first-year students during their senior year of high school on the basis of music performance skills demonstrated by the audition or compositional skills evidenced by written scores

ELIGIBILITY:

Complete the general application for admission.

Complete the Music Scholarship Application Form.

Submit ONE or TWO letters of recommendation (teachers / instructors in the respective field).

Letters of recommendation in Word or PDF format may be attached to the scholarship form at the time of submission or may be sent separately via email to mpuster@wooster.edu.

Attend an audition weekend held on-campus in Scheide Music Center. Audition weekends will be offered in November and February. It is highly recommended that students attend an on-campus audition weekend.

BENEFIT:

Students can receive $2,000 to $8,000 per year. In addition, music lesson fees for a student holding a music scholarship are reduced to $25/semester for half-hour weekly private lessons on the instrument of your audition.

It’s time to ignite your entrepreneurial spirit and accelerate your success with the highly anticipated opening of the GSEA 2023-2024 competition season. Apply today for the GSEA competition season and embark on an exhilarating journey that could change the trajectory of your entrepreneurial career forever.

ELIGIBILITY:

You must be enrolled for the current academic year in a university/college as an undergraduate or graduate* student at the time of application. Full-time enrollment is not required; part-time enrollment is acceptable.

You must be the owner, founder or controlling shareholder of your student business. Each company can be represented by only one owner/co-founder – studentpreneur.

Your student business must have been in operation for at least six consecutive months prior to the application.

Your business must have generated US $500 or received US $1000 in investments at the time of application.

You should not have been one of the final round competitors from any previous year’s GSEA Global Finals Competition.

The age cap for participation is 30 years of age.

*Graduate students are eligible to apply only if they have continually enrolled in a university following their undergraduate degree and not left school to work on their business or to seek other employment. Exceptions can be made for students who have taken up to one academic year off before beginning their postgraduate education.

BENEFIT:

At the Global Finals, students compete for a total prize package of US$100,000 in cash and first place receives US$50,000. Second place will receive US$20,000and third place will receive US$10,000.
