ILLINOIS WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY MERIT-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS

Illinois Wesleyan is able to award merit scholarships and other financial support for international students. Students who are not U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents are considered international students. Students who complete the admissions application are automatically considered for scholarships.

ELIGIBILITY:

Students interested in admission to Illinois Wesleyan University must submit:

IWU Application or Common Application (there is no fee or preference for either application)

Official copies of your academic records from all secondary schools and colleges in which you are currently enrolled or have previously attended. Transcripts should include the most recent 3 years of grades. Academic records need to be in English and notarized.

English Proficiency ExamIELTS , TOEFL , GTEC , Duolingo English Test, or PTEscores are accepted. IWU accepts MyBest scores for the TOEFL, in addition to TOEFL scores from a single test date. Essay

Age Requirement: Illinois Wesleyan University is a residential campus that requires all students to live in university housing for their first 3 years. All students living on campus must be 17 years of age, per our University Housing Policy . Due to this, applicants must turn 17 on or before August 1st of their enrollment year, if starting during the fall semester, or January 1st of their enrollment year, if starting during the spring semester.

BENEFIT:

These awards range from $16,000 to $30,000 per year and are renewable for up to four years.

AFRICAN DEVELOPMENT BANK-JAPAN AFRICA DREAM SCHOLARSHIP (AFDB-JADS)

This scholarship is open to applicants from African Development Bank member countries with relevant professional experience and a history of supporting their countries’ development efforts who are applying to a graduate degree program in energy development and related disciplines.

ELIGIBILITY:

Be a national of an AfDB member country

Be 35 years old or less

Have a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent degree) bachelor’s degree (or equivalent degree) in energy, agriculture, health, environmental sustainability, engineering studies or related areas with excellent academic records, relevant professional experience and a history of supporting your country’s development efforts

Have at least 1 year of paid employment in your home country or in other African countries after receiving your Bachelor’s (or equivalent degree) within the past 3 years

Not be living or working outside of your home country

Not already be enrolled in a graduate degree program

Not be an Executive Director, his/her alternate, and/or staff of all types of appointments of the African Development Bank Group or a close relative of the aforementioned by blood or adoption, with the term “close relative” defined as: Mother, Father, Sister, Half-sister, Brother, Half-brother, Son, Daughter, Aunt, Uncle, Niece, or Nephew

Agree to return to your home country to contribute to its economic and social development after completion of studies under the program
