UNIVERSITY OF ABERDEEN GLOBAL POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS

The University of Aberdeen is delighted to offer the Aberdeen Global Scholarship to international students starting in September 2024, or January 2025. These scholarships are open to students registering for a full-time on-campus program, who don’t receive an externally funded scholarship from elsewhere, or any other University of Aberdeen scholarships (excluding awards made by the University of Aberdeen Development Trust).

ELIGIBILITY:

This program is for Self-funded Pre-Masters Programme students will be entitled to one of the following:

Merit-based scholarship: The University of Aberdeen is offering progression scholarships to students who achieve a grade B (equivalent to at least 68%) in their postgraduate pathway programme. This scholarship will be available up to the value of £2,000 off the postgraduate degree tuition fee, following progression from the International Study Centre.

Please note, this scholarship is only available for Aberdeen campus students.

Please note, you do not need to apply for this scholarship, all eligible students will receive the scholarship as a fee discount.

There is no deadline as no application is required for this scholarship.

WEST AFRICAN RESEARCH CENTER TRAVEL GRANT

Application Deadline: October 20, 2024.

The WARC Travel Grant promotes intra-African cooperation and exchange among researchers and institutions by providing support to African scholars and graduate students for research visits to other institutions and regions on the continent.  

ELIGIBILITY:

This competition is open only to West African nationals, with priority given to those affiliated with West African colleges, universities, or research institutions.

Application Requirements:

Abstract (50-80 words) of proposed activity with a clear statement of purpose

Project/Research description (6 double-spaced pages maximum) including why travel is necessary (must be in  language understandable to non-specialist readers)

Proposed budget

Curriculum vitae (with research and teaching record)

Photocopy of the applicant’s passport (must be a West African national)

All applications must be submitted online in PDF documents

All applicants must have a recommendation letter.

If visiting another institution:
– invitation from host institution

If travel is to consult archives or other materials:
– a description of the collections to be consulted and their significance to the applicant’s research

If you are a graduate student:
– letter of recommendation from professor overseeing your research
