OPEN CALL XI JALÓN ANGEL INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY PRIZE

The Jalón Ángel Photographic Archive, kept by the San Jorge University (San Valero Group), is organizing the 10th Jalón Ángel International Photography Prize. This award pays tribute to the memory of Jalón Ángel with two annual categories: Portrait , a genre in which he has excelled at a national level, and Travel and Traditions , to which he has devoted much of his photographic creativity and interest. In addition, a special category dedicated to Cultural Heritage has been added to this year’s edition.

ELIGIBILITY:

Any author (Spanish or foreign) of legal age may participate with an original photograph. Entry is free

The author may present a maximum of one photograph to each category.

Entries must belong to one of the following genres :

Portrait: spontaneous or posed. The subject of the image is a single person or several (group portrait). The image must be focused on the person/s. Portraits of animals, or photographs of objects or plants are not allowed.

Travel : photographs showing the natural, cultural, or traditional peculiarities of a country (including urban or natural landscapes, but not focusing on the human figure as the main or only element).

Inclusive Society: The images should demonstrate a diverse, integrated society where all people are active participants on equal terms, regardless of their abilities, origin, gender, age, or any other condition. They should highlight equal opportunities and the elimination of barriers, promoting a community where everyone feels valued and respected.

The competition entries must comply with the following requirements :

to. Any photographic medium may be used, but Artificial Intelligence must not be used in all or part of the image .

The entry will be submitted in digital format . It is a prerequisite that the photograph submitted has the following technical conditions : .jpg format , 300 pixels per inch and 50 cms on its long side. The photograph must be at least 2 megabytes and no more than 9 megabytes . If this requirement is not met, the photograph will be disqualified for the prize .

Photographs may be in black and white or color .

Both chemical and digital retouching must be minimal (brightness, contrast, color balance, white balance, saturation) and must not distort the original shot. If this requirement is not met, the photograph will be disqualified for the prize . 

The photographs will not have any element (signature, logo, initials, graphics frames etc.) which serve to identify the author of the image. If this requirement is not met, the photograph will be disqualified for the prize

It will not be possible to send images generated with Artificial Intelligence in whole or in part.

BENEFIT:

The following prizes will be awarded:

Award for best photography in the portrait category . Award amount: 1500 euros*, emblematic trophy and diploma.

Award for best photography in the travel category . Award amount: 1500 euros*, emblematic trophy and diploma.

Award for best photography in Inclusive society category . Award amount: 1500 euros*, emblematic trophy and diploma.

UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL UNDERGRADUATE GLOBAL ADVANCEMENT SCHOLARSHIP 

LOCATION: United Kingdom

The University of Liverpool Undergraduate Global Advancement Scholarship rewards high-achieving international students starting an undergraduate programme at the University of Liverpool in September 2025.

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible for this award you must:

be liable to pay full tuition fees at the international rate

be starting a new undergraduate degree at our Liverpool campus in academic year 2025/26, excluding clinical programmes in Medicine or Dental Surgery

achieve AAA grades in A levels or equivalent qualification.

You’ll be assessed on the qualifications used to gain entry into the University only.

You don’t need to make an application to receive the University of Liverpool Undergraduate Global Advancement Scholarship. It will be automatically allocated to all eligible students. 

This award has no exchangeable cash value. 

BENEFIT:

£3,000 will be deducted from your tuition fees in your first year of study

If you achieve first class honours (70%) in your first year, you’ll then receive a £1,000 fee reduction in your second year of study

If you maintain this grade in your second year, you’ll then receive a £1,000 fee reduction in your third year of study. 

All tuition fee discounts are capped at 50% of the relevant fee.
