The International Excellence Scholarships are available to overseas students who have demonstrated academic excellence or show potential in their academics and wish to join Swansea University. Scholarships are awarded as a discount on tuition fees for the first year of study. Undergraduate students who receive the full £5,000 in their first year of study will be awarded an additional £2,000 in their second year if they achieve a minimum average of 70% in their first year.
ELIGIBILITY:
Applicants must be classed as overseas fee payers. If the fee status of the applicant changes after the scholarship application is made, then the University will need to remove the scholarship.
Applicants must have applied for and received an offer to study at Swansea University (Singleton Park Campus and Bay Campus) on a course starting in the academic year 2026/27 at Undergraduate or Master’s level.
Students studying for a PhD, MPhil, Masters by Research, MRes, Graduate Diploma in Law, Go Global Visiting, Exchange or Erasmus Mundus programme are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Students studying Taught Undergraduate and Taught Postgraduate programmes of study with course fees of £16,000 or above per year are eligible to apply.
Students progressing from Undergraduate to Postgraduate Taught programmes are eligible to apply.
Alumni are eligible to apply. Other terms and conditions apply with regards to other awards open to alumni, which may result in an award not being made in the full amount, or at all.
Applicants must have demonstrated excellence in their academic performance to date and be able to show what they will achieve at Swansea University in their application.
Applicants must be either fully or partially self-funded, i.e. not in receipt of a fully funded sponsorship from their home country / sponsor body, or external third party organisation. If full funding is confirmed after the scholarship is awarded, then the University reserves the right to remove it according to this condition.
Scholarships will be used to offset tuition fees only and cannot be used for any other purpose.
