THE SYSTEMSPECS CHILDREN’S DAY ESSAY COMPETITION

At SystemSpecs, we believe it is possible to have a positive and safe experience online. However, we also recognize as a child, you need to be aware of the dangers of online technology.  And that’s why you are invited to share your thoughts on the 2024 topic: Protecting the Nigerian child from the dangers of online technology” and why it is important! Your perspective matters. We look forward to your submission. 

ELIGIBILITY:

Primary and secondary children schooling in Nigeria ages 9 years and not older than 16 years. 

The Junior category (ages 9 to 12) submits a maximum of 1,000 words, while the Senior category (ages 13 to 16) submits a maximum of 1,500 words.

Your essay must be in English. 

You are only allowed to submit one entry per participant. 

Your submission must be your original thoughts; plagiarism will not be tolerated! 

An accredited school official or parent or legal guardian must endorse your entry. 

You are allowed to re-submit only ONCE. To re-submit, please send an email of appeal to participate@systemspecs.com.ng stating that you wish to withdraw your submission. It is only after this is approved that you can re-submit.

BENEFIT:

Winners will be announced on May 27, 2024, and the award ceremony will take place on June 7, 2024.

OSTEOLOGY FOUNDATION APPLIED RESEARCH GRANTS

Application Deadline:  15 May 2024.

LOCATION: Switzerland

The Osteology Foundation aims to support scientific research and education projects in the field of oral tissue regeneration. To actively promote translational and clinical research, the Osteology Foundation awards grants to selected researchers yearly.

ELIGIBILITY:

This programme provides funding for both early-career and established researchers, and teams who present with a track record in generating and translating basic research findings towards clinical application. Interdisciplinary (collaborative) research involving basic scientists and clinicians, as well as research groups from different universities/entities, is strongly encouraged.

An early-career researcher is defined as a dependent researcher who has a maximum of five years’ academic research experience following the completion of their PhD degree, or completion of clinical training (residency programme) and provide demonstration of enrolment in a research programme (i.e. PhD).

Every other researcher is considered an established researcher, having both:

At least five years’ academic research experience following the completion of their clinical training/PhD (or equivalent) degree

Track record of funding (principal investigator of at least one completed and fully funded grant/project) and publications (at least 5 first- or last-author publications + 5 other publications)

BENEFIT:

Up to 200,000 Swiss francs can be allocated for each selected project. Applications requiring less than the maximum amount are accepted and encouraged, provided that financial feasibility is ensured.
