SAN DIEGO LATINO FILM FESTIVAL POSTER CONTEST

Calling all photographers, artists, and graphic designers!

Media Arts Center San Diego’s 31st Annual San Diego Latino Film Festival (March 14-24, 2024) Poster Competition is now open for submissions. Submit an iconic design that captures the essence of our annual celebration of Latinx film, music, and art. The winning artwork will become the “face” of the festival, appearing in print, web, and on-screen materials.

ELIGIBILITY:

This is a worldwide competition open to all individuals and design firms.

A panel of distinguished judges (composed of artists, graphic designers, marketing professionals and art educators) will select the winning poster according to the following criteria:

Unique, positive, and non-stereotypical representation of Latinx Culture
Clarity and originality of message
Impact, memorability, and appeal to general audiences
Versatility for application on various mediums (web banners, postcards, etc)
Design (type, color, composition, craft)

BENEFIT:

Top Prize: $1,500.00 dollars and promotional exposure in ALL festival related marketing materials

10 Finalists – 2 tickets to the 31st San Diego Latino Film Festival & limited promotional exposure

THE HUBERT H. HUMPHREY FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM.

The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program enhances leadership among international professionals who collaborate to address local and global challenges and foster change for our collective good.  The Humphrey Fellowship Program is a Fulbright exchange activity funded by the U.S. Department of State and administered by the Institute of International Education. 

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible for a Humphrey Fellowship Program, applicants must:

Be a citizen of an eligible country

The Humphrey Fellowship Program is a non-degree program. Participants may complete academic coursework at their host university to update their academic and professional knowledge in their filed, but they do not receive an academic degree as a result of their participation in the program.

Application deadline vary by country. The nominating U.S Embassy or Binational Fullbright Commission will advice on its internal deadline for receiving applications. U.S Embassies and Commissions must submit their nominations to the Institute of International Education in Washington D.C by early October.

BENEFIT:

Payment of tuition and fees at the assigned host university 

Pre-academic English language training, if required

A maintenance (living) allowance, including a one-time settling-in allowance

Accident and sickness coverage 

A book allowance

A one-time computer subsidy

Air travel (international travel to and from the U.S. for the Program and domestic travel to required program events)

A Professional Development allowance for professional activities, such as field trips, professional visits, and conferences
