UNIVERSITY OF EDINBURGH GARDEN SCHOLARSHIP

The Garden Scholarship is open to Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert) in Surgical Writing and Evidence-Based Practice applicants or students currently enrolled in the Postgraduate Professional Development (PgProfDev) Surgical Writing and Evidence-Based Practice programme.

ELIGIBILITY:

The Garden Scholarship will be awarded to applicants who are:

Accepted for admission to the PgCert Surgical Writing and Evidence-Based Practice (online learning) programme in the 2026-2027 academic year. Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so. Preference will be given to those who have an unconditional offer at time of the scholarship application deadline, or,

Currently enrolled in the PgProfDev Surgical Writing and Evidence-Based Practice (online learning) programme and wish to complete the PG Certificate.

The Garden Scholarship would particularly welcome applications from students from sub-Saharan Africa. 

Applicants must be currently domiciled in one of the eligible countries listed below and as derived from the DAC List of ODA Recipients 2026-2027.

As part of your application, applicants must also include a personal statement that confirms and/or addresses each of the following questions (500 words maximum):

Confirm your current employer and your current post.

Outline your career objectives and how these objectives will be enhanced by completion of the PgCert in Surgical Writing and Evidence-Based Practice.

Any additional information that you believe will enhance your application.

The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and the strength of your personal statement.

BENEFIT:

One scholarship will be available for 2026/2027 entry.

The scholarship will cover full tuition fees towards the Postgraduate Certificate in Surgical Writing and Evidence-Based Practice. The maximum scholarship award available for 2026/2027 entry is £5070

ENEL FOUNDATION: OPEN GLOBAL POWER 2026 – 1ST EDITION – CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

Enel Foundation (hereinafter, the “Program Owner”) is pleased to launch the Call for Applications for the 2026 edition of Open Global Power (“OGP”).

Open Global Power is the evolution of the Open Africa Power and Open Brazil Power initiatives and represents a single, integrated global platform for advanced training, policy dialogue, and professional exchange in the field of sustainable energy. 

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

Be between the ages of 24 and 35 by April 13th, 2026.

Be a citizen of an African country, or Brazil, or Chile.

Currently a resident in an African country, Brazil or Chile, or planning to relocate in an African country, Brazil or Chile within the end of 2026.

Be eligible to travel to Italy. All applicants are invited to check well in advance the   procedure applicable to their specific cases.

Having graduated by April 13th, 2026, with a PhD, MBA or Master’s degree (MSc, LLM, MPP, etc.) degree. Current undergraduate students, people only in possession of a Bachelor’s degree, or people who are currently enrolled in a Master’s degree (i.e. graduate students) are not eligible for this program. At least one degree (PhD, MBA, Master’s, or Bachelor’s) must be from an African, Brazilian or Chilean university, according to their citizenship.

Have competencies and a demonstrated interest to pursue a career—in the private or public sector—in the energy and electricity space at large.

Be fully proficient in English (CEFR C1 level) and be able to demonstrate this via an official language certificate or completion of at least one degree completely taught in English.

Recognizing that women play a critical role in the energy sector, but they are often left out of decision-making and have restricted access to energy education, employment opportunities, and finance, their participation in Open Global Power is highly encouraged. Enel Foundation will ensure that 50% of the participants are women.

BENEFIT:

The 200 selected participants will be allocated following this geographical division:

100 seats will be available to Participants bearing the citizenship of an African country

60 seats will be available to Participants bearing the Brazilian citizenship

40 seats will be available to Participants bearing the Chilean citizenship

Following the Online Territorial Modules, the Program Owners will evaluate both the First and the Second Assignments, delivered following the Foundational and the Territorial modules, and select, at their sole discretion, the top performers of the course, based on valuation of their assignments and overall engagement.

The selected top-performing participants will be invited to attend the Final Residential Module.
