THE ADMIT PHD PREP FELLOWSHIP (SPONSOR: THE ADMIT LAB)

Empowering Future Scholars: Apply for $10,000 in PhD Application Support. The PhD Prep Fellowship is a unique initiative by The Admit Lab. It is designed to support aspiring PhD candidates in securing admission to top doctoral programs. This fellowship aims to inspire and empower individuals dedicated to advancing knowledge and research in their chosen fields.

ELIGIBILITY:

Articulate a clear and compelling vision for your future research or academic objectives.

Be in the process of applying to PhD programs within the next 12 months.

Demonstrate a strong commitment to academic excellence and professional development.

Step 1: Prepare Your Application Materials

Curriculum Vitae (CV): An up-to-date CV highlighting your academic achievements, research experience, and relevant skills.

Essay 1: Describe your academic and research goals, your motivation for pursuing a PhD, and how the PhD Prep Fellowship will support your journey. (300 words)

Essay 2: Share your personal story, including the values and experiences that have shaped your identity and character, and how your background will contribute to the academic community. (300 words)

Step 2: Record Your Video

Follow Us on Social Media: Make sure you follow The Admit Lab on TikTokYouTubeInstagram, and LinkedIn to stay updated and connected.

Create a Video: Record a 2-3 minute video explaining your motivation for pursuing a PhD and how the PhD Prep Fellowship will help you achieve your goals.

Include a Call to Action: Conclude your video with “Thank you for watching my video! Please like, share, and comment to support me and The Admit Lab in helping scholars like me achieve their PhD dreams. If you’d like to apply for the fellowship, visit phdprepfellowship.com.”

Post Your Video Publicly: Share your video on TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube. Use the hashtags #WhyPhD and #AdmitLab in your post description and include the link to the fellowship page. Make sure your account and posts are public so they’re visible to the selection team.

Tag and Engage: Tag The Admit Lab in your post, and invite your friends and followers to like, share, and comment on your video. Encourage others to participate in the challenge and apply for the fellowship.

Step 3 : Submit Your Application

Email the URL(s) of your social media post(s), along with your CV and essays, to fellowship@admit-lab.com. Your social media posts must remain public for at least one year.

These resources are meticulously tailored to help you excel in the PhD application process. The fellowship is offered twice a year, with application deadlines on June 1st and September 1st.

BENEFIT:

Recipients of the fellowship will receive $10,000 in Admit Lab credits. These credits can be utilized for personalized application guidance. This includes program selection assistance, research statements, statements of purpose, interview preparation strategies, and more.

BROWN UNIVERSITY: PEMBROKE CENTER POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE, 2026-27

the Pembroke Center will award residential Postdoctoral Research Associate positions to scholars from any field whose research relates to the theme of “The Meanings of Merit: Labor, Categories of Difference, and the Creation of Knowledge.” Fellows are required to participate in a weekly research seminar and teach one undergraduate course.

ELIGIBILITY:

Candidates are selected on the basis of their scholarly potential and the relevance of their work to the research theme.

Recipients must have a PhD at the start of the fellowship and may not hold a tenured position.

Fellowships are awarded to scholars who have received their degrees from institutions other than Brown University within the last five (5) years. The term of appointment is July 1, 2026-June 30, 2027. 

The Pembroke Center is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.

Selected finalists will be asked to submit additional materials, including

One-page document including title and 250-word abstract of proposed research project

Project statement of five typed pages (double-spaced)

Brief representative bibliography for research proposal

Three confidential recommendation letters

Course syllabus with a course description and schedule of assigned readings for an upper-level undergraduate Gender and Sexuality Studies seminar.

BENEFIT:

The annual salary for this postdoctoral position is between $62,232 and $67,824, commensurate with years of experience, plus $2,000 for research expenses and an additional one-time $1,000 stipend to assist in the transition to Providence.
