OXFORD-PERSHING SQUARE GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS

Oxford-Pershing Square Graduate Scholarships provide up to five full awards covering both the Master’s and the MBA degrees. Scholars can pursue any of the 1+1 MBA partnering programmes and combine it with our MBA.  Full scholarships to support outstanding students on the 1+1 MBA.

ELIGIBILITY:

You will be considered in order of priority for the scholarship:

New applicants to the Oxford 1+1 MBA programme.

You must be admitted both to a 1+1 MBA partnering programme and to the MBA before being considered for the scholarship (applicants on the waiting list will not be considered).

Applicants admitted to both a full-time one-year master’s course that is not currently part of the official list of 1+1 MBA partnering programmes, and to the MBA (as a separate application).

Current master’s students who have been admitted to the MBA and were not considered for the scholarship in the previous year.

Recipients are exceptional individuals who can demonstrate the potential and commitment to find sustainable solutions to large-scale challenges.

You will benefit from a range of on-course activities such as attending conferences, termly and scholar community events, and mentorship opportunities. 

Criteria:

Intention to focus on addressing world-scale social challenges in your career, either in an existing organization or through the development of a new enterprise.

Ability to envision how to achieve scalable and sustainable solutions to these challenges.

Leadership potential, demonstrated through experience and motivation.

Academic achievement demonstrated through degree results, GMAT or GRE scores, previous university prizes and awards, and other academic achievements.

Strong personal character, integrity, and commitment.

Articulated vision on how the Oxford 1+1 MBA will allow you to fulfill your objectives.

You are advised to highlight these attributes in your 1+1 MBA application, scholarship essay, and interview answers. 

To apply: You must submit a complete application for both courses and upload the scholarship essay in the ‘Funding’ section of the 1+1 MBA program application by the deadline to be considered.

Value: Course fees for both the Master’s degree and MBA programs, plus a grant for living costs of at least £21,805 for each year of study.

SWISS GOVERNMENT EXCELLENCE PHD SCHOLARSHIPS

Application Deadline: 31 December 2026

LOCATION: Switzerland

This scholarship is intended to support selected applicants in pursuing a PhD at a Swiss university or recognized research institute. Valid only for full-time research in Switzerland.

    ELIGIBILITY:

    Target group:

    Highly qualified researchers who have completed a master’s degree in any academic field

    Priority will be given to individuals who have not previously studied or conducted research in Switzerland (see eligibility criteria for exceptions).

    Criteria

    Master’s degree or equivalent completed by 31 July 2027 (for ETH Zurich: 30 June 2027).

    Date of birth after 31 December 1991.

    Detailed research plan with a timeline specifying key milestones and activities.

    Applicants must have a letter of support from an academic supervisor in Switzerland (including a short CV).

    If the applicant already resides in Switzerland, the date of entry must not be earlier than 1 August 2026 (submit a copy of the registration confirmation or residence permit).

    Duration

    12 months, renewable twice for up to 36 months (subject to academic progress during the first 12 months).

    Start date: 1 September 2027.

    Academic supervision required: An academic supervisor at a Swiss university is required for all scholarship applications (research fellowships, PhD scholarships). Each applicant must find a supervisor in Switzerland to endorse the proposed research project and write a letter of support. Scholarship applications without an academic supervisor will not be considered. This also applies to graduate schools (doctoral programmes).

    Key elements of the scholarship application:

    Complete CV including educational background, degrees, awards, positions, publications, teaching, and practical experience.

    Letter of motivation (max. 2 pages): reasons for stay in Switzerland, significance for future career and professional plans after the scholarship.

    Research proposal: a detailed research plan with a timeline specifying key milestones and activities. To be submitted on the FCS/ESKAS form (max. 5 pages, including a summary for non-specialists). The form can be downloaded in the online application.

    Letter of support from an academic supervisor at a Swiss higher education institution.

    Short CV (max. 2 pages) from this academic supervisor.

    For research fellowships: short CV of the academic supervisor at the home university.

    For PhD scholarships at graduate schools only: confirmation of admission to graduate school (see FAQ for more details).

    E-mail addresses of two different professors in the relevant academic field must be provided during the online application. Those professors will be contacted through the application system and asked to upload a recommendation letter (FCS/ESKAS form).

    Copies of certificates and transcripts from previous universities (if not in English, French, Italian, or German, with certified translations).

    For India: self-certification accepted.

    Copy of passport (dual citizens submit copies of both passports).

    Copy of residence permit or of registration confirmation if already residing in Switzerland.

    CHF 2,450 per month to cover basic living expenses for one person

    This scholarship is not a salary and must therefore not be treated as equivalent to regular remuneration, either financially or legally.
