The Francis Crick Institute offers successful applicants a place on the Crick PhD programme, and a PhD studentship.

ELIGIBILITY:

Candidates of all nationalities can apply for the Crick PhD program and studentship.

The standard Crick PhD program and studentship academic eligibility criteria are:

a first/upper second-class honors degree (or equivalent from a non-UK university) in a relevant subject.

appropriate research experience as part of, or outside of, a university degree course, or a master’s degree in a relevant subject.

Please note that a small number of positions have additional eligibility criteria due to the funding that is supporting that position. If this is the case, details about the additional criteria are provided at the top of the individual position page.

English skills: Applicants do not need to submit information relating to English language skills during the application process. If you are offered a Crick PhD studentship, we will provide you with information on our English language requirements.

BENEFIT:

The offer covers:

£27,715 tax-free student stipend (living allowance) per year for four years

Tuition fees

If applicable, reimbursement of the student visa application fee and immigration health surcharge

ECHOING GREEN INTERNATIONAL FELLOWSHIP

Echoing Green supports bold leaders from all over the world who see possibility in the face of the most existential challenges of our day. This Fellowship is for people whose enterprises are at an early stage and who are experts on the challenge they’ve chosen to confront. 

ELIGIBILITY:

Will you be 18 years or older by the time you begin the Fellowship?

Echoing Green Fellowship applicants must be 18 years or older by June 1, 2026.

Are you able to communicate proficiently in English?

To be eligible for the Fellowship and fully participate in programming and support offerings, you must be able to proficiently communicate in English. Support throughout the Echoing Green Fellowship is offered in English. Please note that reasonable accommodations will be made to support the full participation of those with visual, hearing or speech impairments.

Are you an original founder or a leading member of your proposed organization’s original founding team?

They use the term “original founder” to describe people who launched or are launching an organization that is their original idea. You cannot have assumed a leadership position within the organization after its founding. To be eligible, you must be a leader with decision-making power within the organization and be either 1) a sole founder or 2) a leading founder on a team of people who
created the organization.

Examples:
Eligible: You came up with the idea for your organization, recruited a co-founder and together you launched the organization
You are the sole founder of your organization and have full decision-making authority.

BENEFIT:

If selected, an Echoing Green Fellow receives:

An 18-month stipend of $100,000 USD, intended to allow full-time work on your venture.

Capacity building, leadership development, and organizational support.

Entry into a global community of social entrepreneurs. Mentorship, expert support, peer networks, and convenings.
