THE UNIVERSITY OF SHEFFIELD AFRICA SCHOLARSHIP

In partnership with the University of Sheffield Africa Scholarship Trust, the Department of Geography is pleased to offer one scholarship for a postgraduate taught student from Africa in 2024. Applications are now open. The deadline to apply is 1pm (UK time) Tuesday 28 May 2024.

ELIGIBILITY:

You must hold an offer to study on one of the following courses and register on the course in September 2024 at the University of Sheffield

MA International Development

MSc Environmental Change and International Development

MPH International Development

You must be classified as overseas for tuition fee purposes.

You must be self-funded to receive this award, ie not funded by a research council, government, private enterprise, charity or any similar organisation.

You must not already hold a qualification equal to or higher than a masters. 

You must not have already studied outside of your home country.

This scholarship cannot be awarded in conjunction with any other funding awards, either from the University of Sheffield or external sources.

Your mode of attendance must be full-time.

Receipt of the scholarship is subject to successfully meeting any condition(s) attached to your offer before the deadline provided by the Admissions Service.

You must have an unconditional offer to study at the University before the 2 September 2024.

Receipt of the scholarship is subject to successfully receiving a visa to study at the University in September 2024.

You must be a national of or permanently domiciled in an African country.

The scholarship can not be deferred and students taking a leave of absence will not be eligible to receive the award when they return to their studies. 

BENEFIT:

The 2024 scholarship offers the following support:

A full tuition fee waiver

£8,000 maintenance support

Accommodation in a single occupant en-suite room in University halls of residence

THE EIRA FRANCIS DAVIES SCHOLARSHIP AT SWANSEA UNIVERSITY

Application Deadline: 11:59pm (BST) Sunday 26th May 2024

LOCATION: United Kingdom

The Eira Francis Davies Scholarship is a full tuition fee scholarship ordinarily awarded to one outstanding female student per academic year. The student must be a national of and resident in an eligible developing country, who pursues a postgraduate taught Master’s programme within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Science.

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

hold a minimum 2:1 Bachelors degree or equivalent qualification.

have formally received an offer to study one of the following full-time, postgraduate taught Master’s programmes at Swansea University for entry September 2024:

Biomedical Science (Clinical Biochemistry), MSc

Biomedical Science (Clinical Microbiology), MSc

Clinical Psychology and Mental Health, MSc

Genomic Medicine, MSc

Healthcare Management, MSc

Health Data Science, MSc

Health Informatics, MSc

Medical Neuroscience, MSc

Medical Radiation Physics, MSc

Nanomedicine, MSc

Public Health and Health Promotion, MSc

Research Methods in Psychology, MSc

be female.

be a new student to Swansea University from September 2024.

within their application, demonstrate strong academic ability, financial plan to study and motivation for their chosen course at Swansea University.

be a national, and permanent resident of an Eira Francis Davies Eligible Countries 2024 as listed by the World Bank Country and Lending Groups classification as being ‘low income’ or ‘lower-middle income’ as of 1 July 2023.

not receive any other financial support from Swansea University (e.g. tuition fee reduction, scholarship or bursary).

not be a progressing student from The College, Swansea University.
