VICTORIA UNIVERSITY OF WELLINGTON UNDERGRADUATE INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP

Application Deadline:  Same as the programme application closing date

LOCATION: New Zealand

This scholarship helps international students who are intending to study for a bachelor’s degree to join Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington’s international student community.

This is a partial fee-based scholarship that will go towards tuition fees for one year of study.

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must be:

International students who are paying full international fees; and

Intending to study towards a Bachelor’s degree at Victoria University of Wellington; and

A holder of an unconditional or conditional Offer of  Place for a Bachelor’s degree at Victoria University of Wellington; and

New students to Victoria University of Wellington.

For the avoidance of doubt, this scholarship is open to students who are completing or have recently completed:

Victoria University of Wellington’s English for Academic Purposes (EAP) programme; or

Victoria University of Wellington’s Foundation Studies programme.

A scholarship application is not required. Students will be assessed for their eligibility for a scholarship on application for their programme. Recipients will be advised if they have been offered the scholarship in their Offer of Place.

The scholarship applies for one year of study only, for a student’s first enrolment in that programme.

Payment of the scholarship will be made as a credit towards tuition fees only. The scholarship is applied directly to the tuition fees upfront, allowing students to pay the reduced amount to the university.

The scholarship will only be formally awarded once. While an applicant may apply for multiple programmes and receive multiple Offer of Place notifications confirming their acceptance and provisional scholarship eligibility for those programmes, only one scholarship will be formally awarded per student. The scholarship will be formally awarded once the applicant has enrolled in their first-year courses.

Recipients who subsequently withdraw from the study after the scholarship has been formally awarded may be required to pay back some or all of the scholarship value at the university’s discretion.

Recipients may request approval to defer this scholarship to another intake within the same calendar year. This scholarship cannot be deferred to a later year.

BENEFIT:

The value of the scholarship is NZ$15,000.
