THE WORLD BANK GROUP INTERNSHIP

The World Bank Treasury is one of the few places where you work at the nexus of finance, innovation & international development. The Summer Internship is the only program in the World Bank dedicated to college students. Applications for the 2024 Summer Internship are open until October 15, 2023.

ELIGIBILITY:

Open for global students.

Applicants must have these core requirements to be considered.

Must be enrolled in the second-to-last year of the equivalent of a four-year college degree program with a demonstrated interest in finance, business, economics, or a related field;

Must be prepared to graduate with a college degree between January and September 2025;

Must be in good academic standing at their college or university;

Must be available full-time through the duration of the internship;

Must not have a concurrent employment contract or internship.

Any candidate who is found to have misrepresented their application may be disqualified or terminated.

BENEFIT:

Interns join on a short-term temporary contract and are paid between $20.40 (net – for non-US Citizens) and $24.60 (gross – for US Citizens) per hour for a total of 400 hours. All interns are expected to be in person, full-time, in Washington, DC, for the entire internship (May 28 – August 5). HR policies may change, but interns are expected to work at least four days in the office per week. Each intern will receive a World Bank laptop at the start of the internship. If required, the World Bank sponsors the appropriate visa for an incoming intern to work in the United States.

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY WITH THE PARTNERSHIPS, POLICY AND COMMUNICATIONS UNIT (UNCDF)

UNCDF is seeking an intern to be part of the Partnerships, Policy and Communications Unit (PPC) in its Headquarters located in New York, United States. Working under the guidance and supervision of the Head of PPC, and working closely with PPC staff, the intern will support the ongoing workplan and goals of the unit, including but not limited to expanding partnerships; preparing policy briefs for high level meetings; supporting the launch of major initiatives on blended finance and enterprises in Africa; and building and maintaining a base of knowledge about Member States.

ELIGIBILITY:

Candidate must be enrolled in a degree programme in Business Administration, Economic Development, Economics, Finance,  or another related field.

Applicants to the UNCDF internship programme must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:

Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);

Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent);

Have graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation.

Fluency in English required. Fluency in French desirable;

Knowledge of other UN languages will be considered a plus.

The maximum internship duration is 6 months.

BENEFIT:

Interns are partially financially remunerated by UNCDF. The costs associated with the assignment will be partially supported by UNCDF
