AERES UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES  NL SCHOLARSHIP 

LOCATION: The Netherlands

The NL Scholarship (previously the Holland Scholarship) is meant for international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who want to do their bachelor’s or master’s in the Netherlands. 

ELIGIBILITY:

Your nationality is non-EEA.

You are admitted for a bachelor’s or master’s program.

You have never before studied at an educational institution in the Netherlands.

You meet the specific application requirements of Aeres University of Applied Sciences for the programme of your choice.

Your prior learning meets the admission requirements of the study programme.

You have a minimum score of 550 in the TOEFL English test or a formally recognized equivalent such as the IELTS (level 6.0).

You have the ability to formulate coherently in written English, and you have a vision of the chosen area of interest. Essay writing is part of the selection procedure.

You have a strong motivation to be successful in the sector.

You have team spirit and a flexible attitude in an international working environment.

You are financially eligible for a Dutch visa.

The scholarship amounts to €5,000. You will receive this in the first year of your studies.

SOAS UNIVERSITY OF LONDON ALLAN AND NESTA FERGUSON MASTER’S SCHOLARSHIPS

Application Deadline: 12 noon (UK local time) on 6 February 2026

LOCATION: England

The Allan and Nesta Ferguson scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit. Students offered an Allan and Nesta Ferguson Scholarship must take it up in the academic year 2025/26, and it cannot be deferred to a later year. Please note that this award does not include maintenance support or accommodation costs. The costs of living in London will need to be considered by applicants before applying for this award.

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants must:

Be a resident in low-income or lower-middle-income countries (as defined by the World Bank) and preferably from low-income households.

Hold an undergraduate degree at the first-class level.

Have applied to SOAS but are not required to have received an offer of admissions by the scholarship deadline. You must have received an offer by the time the relevant panel meets to discuss scholarship applications.

Meet the English language condition of their offer of admission to study at SOAS as soon as possible.

Please note that this scholarship does not cover funding or even allow for pre-sessional courses.

Candidates will be assessed on academic merit. The assessment of your application will be based on the information provided in your scholarship application and in your online application for your programme of study. The selection committee will be looking at the degree results and your personal statement.

Any full-time master’s program in the College of Humanities excluding MA Buddhist Studies, MA Buddhist Studies with Intensive Language, and MA Traditions of Yoga and Meditation. 

You must submit a complete online application to your programme. Please note that complete applications for admission can take up to 4 weeks to be considered by the department, although this duration can vary depending on the time of year. You should be prepared to wait up to 6 weeks in busy periods. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

BENEFIT:

3x awards of £32,500

A minimum of two awards will be made by Allan and Nesta Ferguson; each has a total value of £32,500, which will be put towards tuition fees.
