UNIVERSITY OF MANITOBA INTERNATIONAL UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT BURSARY

The International Undergraduate Student Bursary is available for undergraduate international students with good academic standing and demonstrated financial need.

ELIGIBILITY:

General bursary criteria:

All students must complete courses in both the fall and winter terms to be eligible.

In most cases, students must register for and complete at least 60 percent of a full course-load per term (i.e., a minimum of 9 credit hours per term). Graduate students do not have to adhere to credit hour minimums provided they are registered as full-time students over the fall and winter terms with the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

Students must meet minimum G.P.A. requirements. Continuing students must have a minimum degree G.P.A. of 2.0. New students (from high school) must have a grade 12 average of 70% or higher. Students admitted on Mature Student Status may also be eligible for bursary consideration.

Financial need must be clearly documented on the application. Students who have applied for government student loans from other provinces must provide a copy of a current official government loan assessment to support their declaration of financial need. Please note Manitoba Student Aid recipients do not need to submit a copy of their Notice of Assessment.

International students in their first year of post-secondary study in Canada are not eligible to apply to the general bursary program.

Available: The University of Manitoba General Bursary Application is available through Aurora Student at the beginning of August every year.

CURTINS UNIVERSITY HDR SCHOLARSHIP – CENTRE FOR OPTIMIZATION AND DECISION SCIENCE HDR SCHOLARSHIP

Three PhD positions are immediately available at the Centre for Optimization and Decision Science at Curtin University. The research will focus on developing robust adaptive techniques for solving complex problems in mathematical physics. The specific research areas we will explore are
Adaptive scientific deep learning methods for mathematical physics problems governed by partial differential equations (domain decomposition, adaptive quadrature)

Experience in developing scientific software (using any of these languages/libraries: Python, Julia, C++, C, Fortran, Matlab, Fenics/FeniX, MFem, deal.II, libMesh, PETSc, Trilinos, Pytorch, TensorFlow, Jax, Keras, Pandas)

Ability to read technical papers and analyze/implement methodologies described in them

Strong ability to communicate in writing and orally

Recipients must complete their milestone 1 within 6 months of enrollment, remain enrolled on a full-time basis for the duration of the scholarship, and make satisfactory progress in the research work.

Value: This scholarship provides a living stipend of $32,250.00 p.a. pro rata indexed, based on full-time studies, for up to a maximum of 3 years.
