2026 ECU CITY CAMPUS WELCOME BURSARY

A $5,000 bursary is available to new international students commencing an undergraduate or master’s by coursework program at ECU City Campus in Semester One or Two, 2026. Eligible students must maintain full-time enrollment (60 credit points per semester) and meet all terms and conditions.

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible for this bursary, you must:

be an international student (not an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident, or New Zealand Citizen);

be studying an undergraduate or master’s by coursework program on-campus for the first time, at ECU City Campus in Semester One, 2026, or Semester Two, 2026 (excluding Bachelor of Science (Nursing) C33 and Master of Nursing (Graduate Entry) J46);

not be in receipt of a government scholarship or industry sponsorship or ECU full scholarship for your studies; and

enrolled to study 60 credit points each Semester or study period in 2026 and remain enrolled in 60 credit points post census date of the commencing semester.

The recipient must be enrolled to study 60 credit points each Semester or study period in 2026 on ECU City Campus and remain enrolled in 60 credit points post census date.

ECU is open to prospective international students, including ECU Alumni, who have completed their original degree and received an offer to enroll in Semester One, 2026 or Semester Two, 2026 into a new degree (for example, those progressing from Bachelor’s to Master’s courses).

ECU may, in its absolute discretion, cancel the bursary if the recipient does not enroll in their units of study or pay their tuition fees by the relevant date(s) published by ECU.

The recipient may become ineligible for the bursary if they receive a government scholarship or industry sponsorship or another grant during the term of the bursary.

BENEFIT:

A $5,000 bursary is available. The bursary is paid in two installments of $2,500 after the census date of each of the first two semesters.

LEIDEN UNIVERSITY KUIPER-OVERPELT STUDY FUND

The Kuiper-Overpelt Study Fund is a scholarship programme for talented students from developing countries who wish to follow the Master of Laws Advanced Studies programme in International Children’s Rights and meet all criteria for admission.

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must: 

be highly motivated to follow the Master of Laws Advanced Studies programme in International Children’s Rights.

Students who wish to follow and meet the admission criteria for the Master of Laws: Advanced Studies programme in International Children’s Rights.

be a national of a country with a medium (113-151) or low (152-189) ranking on the HDI Index—see the UNDP website.

lack the financial means to follow the study programme without the assistance of a scholarship.

The applicant must have the firm intention of returning to their home country after graduation and putting into practice the knowledge obtained during the programme, in order to improve the implementation of international children’s rights in their home country. The applicant must be willing to sign a letter of intent to this effect.

Submit an online application for admission to the Master of Laws: Advanced Studies in International Children’s Rights and pay the application fee of € 100. Don’t forget to upload a valid English test result in your application. 

BENEFIT:

The scholarship amounts to €20,000, which covers most of the tuition fee of €22,300. The duration of the scholarship is one year.
