UNIVERSITY OF SURREY INTERNATIONAL EXCELLENCE AWARD (UNDERGRADUATE) SEPTEMBER 2027

This prestigious award recognizes academic excellence and is awarded to selected students starting a bachelor’s degree at the University of Surrey.

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible, applicants must:

Be an overseas fee-paying student.

It is open to self-funded international fee-paying students regardless of nationality or domicile.

Choose Surrey as your firm choice on your UCAS application (students applying to us via Clearing can also apply for this award).

Hold an offer to study a full-time bachelor’s degree programme at FHEQ Level 4 (first-year entry)

Be self-funded (you must be paying for your studies independently rather than being sponsored or in receipt of another scholarship).

Apply for this scholarship before a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) is issued. The award cannot be applied post CAS.

Excludes part-time and distance-learning courses.

Please note:

This award is available for the first year of an undergraduate degree only.

This award is not open to students from Surrey International Study Centre (SISC).

Applicants in receipt of this scholarship will not be eligible for any other Surrey scholarship.

This award is not deferrable to the following year (if you defer, you will need to reapply for the award). This will also be subject to the award availability.

Applications are reviewed monthly.

Surrey as your firm choice on your UCAS application to be considered for the award

An offer from the university to complete the scholarship application form. Applications without a valid student ID/UCAS ID and offer will not be assessed.

BENEFIT:

The scholarship is awarded as a £5,000 fee waiver.

The Internship Programme aims to attract talented young women and men who are strongly motivated to share their new perspectives, innovative ideas, and latest academic experience in FAO’s domains. The Programme provides a learning opportunity to the participants to supplement their academic knowledge with a practical work assignment in a field related to the work of FAO.

Minimum Requirements:

Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree programme in a “bona fide” educational institution at the time of application or as a recent graduate. Please note that FAO only considers higher educational qualifications obtained from an institution accredited/recognized in the World Higher Education Database (WHED), a list updated by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The list can be accessed at http://www.whed.net/.
Candidates must specialize in a field relevant to the mission and work of FAO.
Working knowledge of at least one FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian or Spanish). Knowledge of a second FAO language will be considered an asset.

Be nationals of FAO Members.

Candidates should be aged between 21 and 30.

Candidates should be able to adapt to an international multicultural environment and have good communication skills.

BENEFIT:

FAO provides a monthly stipend to interns if they are not sponsored by sending universities or other entities.
