WORLD BANK INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME (BIP)

The Bank Internship Program (BIP) offers highly motivated individuals an opportunity to be exposed to the mission and work of the World Bank. The internship allows individuals to bring new perspectives, innovative ideas and research experience into the Bank’s work, while improving skills in a diverse environment. 

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible for an Internship, candidates must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a full-time graduate study program (pursuing a master’s degree or PhD with plans to return to school full-time). There is no age limit.

Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of languages such as: French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Portuguese, and Chinese is desirable. Other skills such as computing skills are advantageous.

J1 visa holders need to obtain a G4 visa abroad prior to starting employment or unpaid internship at the World Bank

BENEFIT:

The World Bank pays an hourly salary to all Interns and, where applicable, provides an allowance toward travel expenses up to USD 3,000 at the discretion of the manager. These travel expenses can only include transport expenses (airfare) to or from the duty station city. Interns are responsible for their own accommodations.

WELLS MOUNTAIN INITIATIVE UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARS PROGRAM

Applications for the Wells Moutain Initiative Undergraduate Scholars program is open  to students, male or female, from a country in the developing world who which to puruse their undergraduate program in their home country or other developing countries.

ELIGIBILITY:

Ideal Candidate – A student, male or female, from a country in the developing world who:

Successfully completed a secondary education, with good to excellent grades

Is 35 or under on March 1, 2024

Will be studying in his or her country or another country in the developing world*

Is pursuing his or her first bachelor’s degree or diploma

Will be enrolled in a program of study that will benefit the community and/or contribute to the continued growth and advancement of his or her home country 

Plans to live and work in his or her own country after graduation

Has demonstrated his or her commitment to giving back and has volunteered prior to applying

May have some other funds available for his or her education, but will not be able to go to pursue his or her tertiary degree without financial assistance

BENEFIT:

$3000 USD awarded annually and are provided throughout the undergraduate education of the recipient.
