UNIVERSITY OF EXETER UNDERGRADUATE GLOBAL EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIPS 2024/25 **ROUND 2**

Undergraduate Global Excellence Scholarships have been created to support students wishing to develop their academic potential and contribute to our thriving University community of students and staff from over 150 countries. Global Excellence Scholarships recognise high academic achievement and assist scholars in accessing our exceptional teaching and learning, whilst taking advantage of all that University life offers to support their ambitions for the future.

ELIGIBILITY:

You can apply for one of these scholarships if you:

are classified as an International student for fees purposes (including any EU students required to pay International fees in 2024/25); and

already hold an offer for an eligible Undergraduate degree at the University of Exeter, commencing in September 2024.

Scholarship recipients are selected on:

Academic merit, based on the information you have supplied in your UCAS application.  Applicants will typically be expected to demonstrate that they have achieved or are able to achieve the equivalent of GCE A level grades AAB or International Baccalaureate 34 points. For the Business School, the expectation is higher, set at GCE A level grades A*AA or equivalent.  See our Entry Requirements pages for further guidance.

The ability to demonstrate the following as part of the application process: academic ambition; future career ambitions; a genuine need for the scholarship and how this will support your ambitions; a sense of social responsibility and willingness to engage with the Exeter community. 

**The deadline for Round 2 of the Global Excellence Scholarships 2024/25 scheme has been extended from 26 April 2024 to 24 May 2024. Please apply promptly after receiving a programme offer. Eligible candidates who apply by the original deadline of 26 April 2024 will receive their decision notification by 25 May 2024 as planned. Eligible candidates who apply between 27 April 2024 and 24 May 2024 will receive their decision notification no later than 15 June 2024.***

CHATHAM HOUSE GLOBAL PLATFORM FOR ACTION CLIMATE AND SUSTAINABILITY ACADEMY FELLOWSHIP

Global Platform for Action Climate and Sustainability Academy Fellowship is a joint initiative between Chatham House and the Global Platform for Action on Sustainable Energy in Displacement Settings (GPA) hosted at The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), and the University of Oxford Refugee-Led Research Hub (RLRH).

ELIGIBILITY:

Eligibility for this fellowship is limited to individuals who meet the selection criteria and want to work with the Environment and Society Centre.

Citizenship: The fellowship is open to individuals who have lived experience of forced displacement such as identifying as a current or ‘former’ refugee, asylum seeker, internally displaced person, stateless person, or another category.

Education: Applicants must hold a completed BA degree or equivalent and have experience with conducting research.

Career: The ideal candidate should be at the early-to-mid-stage of their career and come from one of the following fields or work: academia, NGO, business, government departments, civil society or the media. All applicants should possess knowledge of, and an interest in, international affairs, their chosen area of research, and Chatham House’s mission and research.

Age restrictions: We do not impose age restrictions for applicants.

Fellows are expected to work full-time towards their fellowship and therefore it is not possible to undertake a fellowship at the same time as pursuing work or studies.

BENEFIT:

The fellow will receive a monthly stipend of £2,365 which will cover London living costs, including accommodation, utilities, food, transport and other basic expenses.

The Academy covers reasonable costs related to:

Relocation e.g., flights, train, other transportation to and from the UK, three nights of accommodation, visas, extra cases or boxes, etc.;

Payment of the UK’s Immigration Healthcare Surcharge which allows access to the UK National Health Service (Note: you may be required to pay for dental and optical treatments and medicines prescribed by a doctor); and

Research, outreach and dissemination costs e.g., fieldwork, travel, conferences, publication, roundtables, events, etc.

Following the successful completion of their fellowship alumni benefit from access to:

Five-year Chatham House membership.
