The Leakey Foundation’s prestigious Franklin Mosher Baldwin Fellowship program builds the future of science by investing in aspiring researchers around the world. The Baldwin Fellowship program breaks barriers for talented young scholars, empowering them to earn graduate degrees and become leaders in their chosen field.

ELIGIBILITY:

The Baldwin Fellowships help students from countries where there are limited opportunities for advanced education in fields of research related to human origins.

This program is open to applicants with citizenship in countries with limited opportunities for advanced training and education in fields related to human origins.

Applicants must be accepted to or currently attending a program of advanced training or studies leading towards a master’s degree or PhD either outside or inside the applicant’s home country.

The applicant’s field of study must be related to human origins.

BENEFIT:

INSTITUTE FOR HUMANE STUDIES FELLOWSHIP, USA

LOCATION: USA

The Humane Studies Fellowship provides up to $10,000 to support PhD students completing major research projects, presenting their work at top conferences, and publishing their work in major journals.

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants must be full-time students enrolled in a PhD program or a postdoctoral fellowship

Previous applicants and winners are welcome to apply

Prior participation in IHS programs is encouraged, though not required

This award is available to students at any university, and international students are eligible; however, priority is given to applicants at top research institutions

This award is intended to foster those key projects that maximize a recipient’s research impact and career prospects. These awards give you access to other IHS opportunities, including job market support, in-person and online events, and much more.

Awardees are expected to submit copies of research completed, presented, submitted for review, or published during the fellowship period when and as available. Awardees will also provide updates on significant progress made during the fellowship period.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Applicants will be notified of their award within eight weeks of submission.
