DUNCAN NORMAN RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIP AT THE UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL

The Duncan Norman Research Scholarship at the University of Liverpool was established in 2004 following the receipt of a generous donation from The Duncan Norman Charitable Trust in memory of the late Duncan Norman. This scholarship shall be awarded annually and competition therefore is very strong.

ELIGIBILITY:

The scholarship is open for application to all prospective full-time postgraduate research students irrespective of nationality, tuition fee status or subject area.

It is expected that, where possible, all candidates for the Duncan Norman Research Scholarship should also have made an application to secure funding from alternate sources for a postgraduate studentship. If offered, the studentship must be accepted, and in such circumstances the Duncan Norman Research Scholarship would provide additional top up funding.

The holders of the scholarship must register for a PhD at the University of Liverpool and attend any events based in Liverpool that are organised by the Duncan Norman Charitable Trust.

Prospective applicants must hold a formal offer of study for a PhD programme at the University of Liverpool and only students who already hold, or are likely to attain in forthcoming examinations, a first-class honours degree (or its equivalent) are likely to be considered by the University’s Scholarship Awarding Committee.

BENEFIT;

This prestigious Scholarship consists of the following funding and research support:

Competitive annual maintenance stipend of £22,000 (or top-up to this level of maintenance if the candidate is in receipt of another source of funding)

Full payment of tuition fees (Home, EU or Overseas)

Free University accommodation of up to £4,635 pa or an allowance of the same amount for students wishing to live off campus

Laptop or desktop computer of up to £1,000 in value

Support for conference expenses of up to £500 in years 2 and 3.

KHALIFA UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY PHD SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Khalifa University of Science and Technology offers PhD scholarships to support qualified international students enrolled in doctorate programs.

ELIGIBILITY:

The scholarship supports international students pursuing a Doctoral degree at Khalifa University. 

Scholarship offered to full-time PhD students only. Students are reassessed for scholarship eligibility annually.

Scholarship eligibility is assessed as part of the admission process and applicants are not required to submit a separate scholarship application.

The number of available scholarship slots is limited.

All applicants are evaluated and mapped to a specific scholarship Tier on the basis of academic merit, research potential and other relevant factors, in line with Khalifa University’s strategic priorities, rules and regulations.

Meeting the eligibility criteria for a specific Tier does not guarantee a scholarship award.

BENEFIT:

Tier I (Full-Time only)

Full coverage of tuition fees.

Basic monthly stipend of 20,000 AED.

Additional monthly allowance of 20,000 AED, subject to approval and meeting scholarship progression criteria.

Textbooks provided by the University.

Support to attend international research conferences, subject to approval.

Medical insurance coverage for full-time international students sponsored by Khalifa University.

Mobilization and demobilization flights (between home country and Abu Dhabi) for full-time overseas international students, subject to University policies and procedures. Mobilization flight is not applicable for Students holding a UAE residence visa.

Coverage of UAE visa application fees for full-time international students.

Commitment to work with Khalifa University or a nominated entity upon graduation for a period equivalent to the period of study. The University reserves the right for any reason not to offer the student a post after graduation.

Tier II (Full-Time only)

Additional monthly allowance of 10,000 AED, subject to approval and meeting scholarship progression criteria.
