UCD SCHOOL OF EARTH SCIENCES MSC SCHOLARSHIPS AND STIPENDS

They are pleased to announce the following scholarship opportunities for the School of Earth Sciences graduate-taught master’s programmes (MSc in Subsurface Geomodelling and MSc in Environmental and Engineering Geoscience) for the 2026-27 academic year

ELIGIBILITY:

This is open to applicants who qualify for the EU fee rate (including Irish, other EU, and UK applicants) and non-EU applicants.

In both cases, applicants must already have applied to the course online and be holding an offer of a place on one of these two MSc courses. These scholarship and stipend offers are only applicable to the particular MSc programme specified, and cannot be transferred to another programme or deferred to a later academic year.

UCD School of Earth Sciences MSc Scholarship or Stipend applications should be made via email to (opens in a new window)earthsciencesscholarships@ucd.ie and must include transcripts, a CV, names of two referees, and a personal statement. The scholarships will be awarded by a committee of School of Earth Science faculty on the basis of academic excellence and student fit to the MSc. The deadline for applications is February 28th, 2026, and candidates will be informed by mid-March.

The UCD School of Earth Sciences MSc Stipend does not include a tuition fee scholarship. However, details of UCD tuition fees and scholarships for non-EU students are available here.  All non-EU applicants to our course are assessed on the basis of their academic record for a UCD International Student Scholarship, which covers part of tuition fees, as part of the application process, and no separate application is required for this. The UCD Global Excellence Scholarships offer 50% or 100% waivers of tuition fees for non-EU applications and must be applied for separately. 

BENEFIT:

Up to two full fee waivers for EU applicants.  This is open to applicants who qualify for the EU fee rate (including Irish, other EU, and UK applicants).

Up to two stipends, to the value of €20,000, as a contribution to living expenses for non-EU applicants.  This is open to all applicants who qualify for the Non-EU fee rate.

UNIVERSITY OF GLASGOW HUMANITARIAN POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP

Application Deadline: 30th of April 2026, 23:00 GMT.

They are delighted to announce the launch of the University of Glasgow Humanitarian Scholarship, created to support Displaced and Conflict-Affected (DACA) applicants applying for Postgraduate Taught (PGT) programmes for 2026 entry. The university is offering the Humanitarian Scholarship to 9 postgraduate taught applicants.  Please note that you must have a programme application in progress before applying for this scholarship. 

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible, applicants must: 

Have applied to study an eligible programme at the University of Glasgow for the 2026-27 academic session.  

Be domiciled in any country that is not the United Kingdom

Have international or EU fee status

Be classed as a highly qualified applicant; this is usually determined by an ability to demonstrate academic excellence and achieve grades equivalent to UK 1st Class Honours

Be at serious risk due to armed conflict, and/or have been displaced within your home country or forced to leave your home country within the last three years because of armed conflict, and have sought international protection outside the UK.

BENEFIT:

Full tuition fee waiver for the duration of study  

A stipend of £9,010 per year towards study/living costs 

University of Glasgow accommodation for the duration of study (Please note this scholarship will not fund private accommodation)
