NSIA PRIZE FOR INNOVATION

Can your startup create ground-breaking, tech-enabled solutions in your industry? If the answer is yes, submit your application to NPI 2.0. Up to US$220,000 to be won in prizes and an all expense paid training programme in Silicon Valley, USA. NPI is designed to encourage and support ingenuity within the digital ecosystem and fund early-stage, growth driven solutions, with the aim of driving transformative economic growth, enhancing the nation’s productive capacity, and creating jobs. 

ELIGIBILITY:

One of the founders must be a Nigerian Citizen

Applicants must be 18 years or older

Applicants must be running Innovative tech-focused or tech-enabled startups

The startup should have operated for not less than six months and operating in or within Nigeria

The startup should be looking to raise a seed round

The startup should have developed a minimum viable product (MVP)

Applicants must be willing and able to commit to a 10-week fast-track accelerator programme

Only one application is permitted per applicant irrespective of the sector. Subsequent applications will be disqualified

BENEFIT:

Top 3 winners will have a pre-set valuation for their startups as indicated below

1st Place Winner – up to $3m

2nd Place Winner – up to $2m

3rd Place Winner – up to $1m

The startups of the top 10 finalists must be registered in Nigeria

ALC PEACE, SECURITY & DEVELOPMENT FELLOWSHIP

The African Leadership Centre (ALC) is pleased to announce a call for applications for Peace, Security & Development Fellowships for the academic year 2024/2025. The ALC Fellowship programmes seek to produce high performing graduates with identifiable leadership characteristics and skills, who generate cutting-edge research on peace, security and development and participate in institutional, national and regional networks to train and mentor the next generation of African academics.

ELIGIBILITY:

Candidates must be female citizens of African countries.

Successful candidates must hold valid travel documents prior to acceptance.

Candidates must hold a master’s or bachelor’s degree and added experiences in peace, security and development field is valued.

Candidates must have knowledge of, or experience with women’s rights, gender and development issues.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate a commitment to contribute to work on peace, security and development in Africa.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate capacity to undertake research on issues relating to peace, security and development in Africa.

Candidates must demonstrate commitment to the core values of the programme: Promoting African led ideas and processes of Change; Independent thinking; Integrity; Pursuit of Excellence; Recognition of Youth Agency and Respect for diversity in all its forms.

Candidates must have a demonstrable plan for how to utilise knowledge gained in the Fellowship upon return to their countries and/ or organisations.

Candidates must be fluent in spoken and written English as all aspects of the programme are delivered in English.

BENEFIT:

This is a fully funded1 opportunity, not including any visa application and processing costs. Funds will be made available to the fellows to cover tuition, subsistence in the UK and Africa, and travel expenses related to the programme in both phases.

While the ALC has guest rooms that fellows can rent whilst in Nairobi, successful applicants are expected to find their own accommodation at attachment institutions.

Fellows are strongly advised to make all necessary accommodation arrangements prior to taking up their positions on the Fellowship Programme.
