YALE JACKSON SCHOOL OF GLOBAL AFFAIRS EMERGING CLIMATE LEADERS FELLOWSHIP

The Yale Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship offers an opportunity for 16 young climate and clean energy practitioners from across the Global South to broaden their technical skills, deepen their professional networks, and exchange views with top global clean energy and climate change leaders. Admission is highly competitive. Each cohort of fellows is geographically balanced and represents a wide range of professions, talents, experiences, cultures, people, and perspectives. 

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants should be between five and 10 years into their professional careers, with demonstrated accomplishments at a regional, national, or international level. While there is no minimum or maximum age requirement, we are looking for young leaders who are still on the rise in their careers.

Applicants must be representatives of the Global South. They are looking forward to welcoming a diverse representation from developing Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America/Caribbean.

Applicants must be fluent in English. An excellent command of the English language is essential to successfully participating in the program.

Climate Fellows must be available to fully participate in all parts of the program, including in-person for two weeks of the program: the Yale Orientation week (February 16-20, 2026), and the Paris closing week (June 15-19, 2026).  Fellows must also be available to participate in the five remote learning journeys and to work on a collaborative group project between March and June 2026.

Prior to the deadline, you may work on your application at any time and submit it when you are ready. After creating an account and accessing the online application, you can upload materials and request your letters of recommendation.

Applicants are required to submit a résumé/curriculum vitae (maximum three pages), a brief video statement, a personal statement (maximum 600 words), and one letter of recommendation.

BENEFIT:

There is no application fee or other cost to apply or participate. All fellows’ costs for Yale Orientation Week and Paris Closing Week will be covered by the program (round-trip airfare, hotels, transfers, and per diem).

SINGAPORE INTERNATIONAL GRADUATE AWARD (SINGA)

LOCATION: Singapore

The Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) is a collaboration among the Agency for Science, Technology & Research (A*STAR), the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), the National University of Singapore (NUS), the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), the Singapore Management University (SMU), and the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). It is a bond-free award offered to international students with excellent academic undergraduate and/or master’s results and a strong interest in doing research leading to a doctorate (PhD) or an EngD in science and engineering at a Singapore university.

ELIGIBILITY:

SINGA supports PhD or EngD (where applicable) studies in biomedical sciences, computing and information sciences, engineering and technology, and physical sciences.

Open for application to all international graduates with a passion for research and excellent academic results
Note: SINGA is intended primarily for international students studying for the first time in Singapore. Singaporeans, Singapore permanent residents, and international students studying/who have studied in Singapore tertiary institutions are not eligible.

Bachelor’s degree certificate(s)/scroll(s) or a letter of certification from the university on your candidacy if your degree certificate/scroll has not yet been conferred.

2 recommendation reports (to be completed and submitted online by the referees).

You may be requested by the university to submit satisfactory GRE scores as part of the university admission requirement.

The submission of IELTS/TOEFL/SAT I & II/GATE results is optional and may be requested later by the university for admission.

The award provides support for up to 4 years of PhD studies, including

Monthly stipend of S$2,700, which will be increased to S$3,200 after the passing of the Qualifying Examination.

One-time airfare grant of up to S$1,500

One-time settling-in allowance of S$1,000
